Oil revenues still dire - making finances of an independent Scotland rather awkward.

It is pretty poor, but why don't the Telegraph and Mail do features on how the UK is languishing with the EU's economic basket cases?

"Voters' greatest disappointment with AutumnStatement is lack of £ for NHS. 'Why not use the £350m?' Asked one in BritainThinks focus group"

Over estimating the intelligence of the electorate is the biggest mistake politicians make.

Isn't there a chance that the focus group person was being sarcastic?

I'd throw 'treating poor/working class voters with contempt' is the biggest mistake that British and American (and in particular left leaning) politicians and media types make. Look at how the Tories and the Republicans are now the parties that represent the 'working man' in 2016. That's the fault of Labour and the Democrats, not 'thick voters'.

Think I pretty much suggested all this on June 24th.

Whatever Labour do they are screwed.

If they go for "Remain in EU at all costs" they lose swathes of seats in North East, North West and Midlands

If they embrace Brexit they lose seats in metropolitan areas.

I am definitely leaning towards voting Lib Dem. If Clegg was still leader it would be a no brainer. Can't bear Tim Farron though.

I'm quite scornful over the "principles over power" mantra of the Corbynistas.

But if pandering to nationalism and racism is the only way Labour can win an election, I'd rather they didn't win tyvm.

Kinda proved my point there, the knee jerk assumption that working class = racist.

If 2/3rd can be made better off doesn't this just show up the ongoing inequity in the way successive governments ensure any prosperity is distributed. Brexit may exacerbate the effect of the political choices but they are political choices and not brexit related per se.  In fact brexit becomes a convenient codeword for keep ignoring the poor fkers. Pretty convenient for all political persuasions at the moment.

Still a laugh  of course that people protesting their left behindness have no real outlet in terms of voting for a political entity that would ever actually change this
