I think that's reacting to a predicted narrow victory for Remain in Newcastle, when ite might have expected to be a bit more (university town, lots of young people)

Newcastle/Sunderland very white working class?

Sunderland certainly white working class, less graduates. Newcastle more graduates.

Labour have lost their supporters.

Only way remain wins now is if Tory heartland backs the party line by a bigger margin than expected.

Tory heartland backs brexit tho innit

Labour were with the government, their supporters are against the government, whatever the argument. Think labour should have thought more strategically and went for leave based on camerons poor negotiation and let the tories implode. Glad its close makes it way more interesting. Hope its not eurovision esk and they are making it look closer than it is.

Think remain could have done worse in sunderland. Turnouts are poor if they re reflected across country its very close.

Thought Wales was a bit more split and concerns expressed about Scottish turnout. Be interesting to see if really gets interesting
