The seemingly low opinion from people about our country is staggering. We are one of the most multi-cultural, diverse and tolerant countries in the world...yet we are 'racist'. We have just turned around to the whole world and stated we are open for business...yet we are 'inward looking'. We have just shown we believe in equality for all people...not just people from certain geographic areas. We have embraced every vote and counted all votes equally...yet people suggest when you reach a certain age your input shouldn't matter. Some hideous ideas and comments about Britain really, just the sort of attitude that will hold us back as we try and move forward.

Possibly the most sensible post you've ever made, and that includes the ones on the PHA board Smiley

I'm stealing it for elsewhere.

How does this show we are open for business?  And how are we not treating people differently based on geography.  Previously we gave priority to Europeans, now it is just those from the UK.  It is just the same as before, just with a different region.

Anyway, may as well take advantage of the turmoil and buy some shares.

If a star striker leaves a football team when his contract expires how does that show he's open to sign for another team? That he's open to do business? Because it does.

Its more like a workforce team negotiating a joint contract and then an individual leaving and hoping someone picks him up. But now he has to work out the terms of his exit before hoping other people give him a better deal solo. Which they might, eventually. Even though we are a very open economy already and have just caused a whole heap of disruption. We are in an awful position to negotiate with anyone, we need to act quickly, hence the BoE action today and are now in a bit of a rush to get things moving I'd imagine. We've opened the door for business with our finances out of whack and our store in ruins (imo). If the UK banking sector suffers as much as it has been forecast we will be running out of things to offer.

Interested on reading thoughts from those who voted leave to inform me on what positives you foresee now ?

Stronger economy following some turbulence
Some sort of control on immigration
Scottish independence

Listening to Sturgeon, I bloody hope so.

If hating England also equates to being a racist, she is the definition of one.

Yah just like the notional player has lots of sponsorship deals. Mourinho had this problem with watches. Before he became MU manager he was with Hublot but United are sponsored by Bulova. What was the result? Was there a disaster? No, Jose now has a Hublot and a Bulova. Seems like an overall improvement in his time-telling situation really.

This is the bit I never really got.

We previously had agreements to do business, now we do not.

Who is we? I have just completed a large machine sale deal with some Italian customers this very morning, so its not my company.

Is we, the Government and in which case what are they selling that individual businesses do not?

If currencies fluctuate, then yes, my business proposition may not be so easy, but it doesn't mean my products are suddenly less attractive. But this has always been so with us outside the Euro.

Please explain.

It's a surprise net immigration was so high if we have so little to offer.

If there a duty of 10% to pay on your product in the future then either it is less attractive to the customer, or you have to cut your margin

corporate sector and government

you might have still sold to the italians today, but would a 10% tariff upping the sale price have made a difference to the sale just to give one example?

there are potentially 55 seperate trade deals to do with EU countries. hugely complex task.

it might turn out fine, as people argue, but its a long time of uncertainty where consumer and corporate spending plans might be reduced, might go on hold etc etc

We haven't left yet, so there are no barriers to this trade in place.    I probably used the wrong tense.

What our future agreements will look like I have no idea.  See Tighty's graphic.

What , if anything is most likely happen to our N.H.S ?

its getting £350m from saved EU payments directly, or was until the polls closed.

a wider questions, think of all the areas that get EU grants...cornwall for example hugely dependent on them, EU grants helped out with the globalisation struggles in shipbuilding, steel coal etc, lots of regional development funds etc

without them, you think a Boris government spends the money? good luck with that
