Happened to be listening to 5Live when GW’s appointment was announced. Edwina Currie was a studio guest, commenting on the revelations of the latest dodgy dossier.

Coming back from the breaking news, the presenter asked Edwina for her reaction. She actually chortled before saying roughly as follows: “I listened to him do a speech introducing himself very recently, actually. He spoke for 40 minutes and said very little.”

Several hours later, I heard him fielding questions. I see what she meant. Couldn’t believe the BBC weren’t re-running Edwina’s comments. Talk about instant damning with faint praise. Wow.

Are the Tories reliving the John Major years? No. It’s much worse than that

Prior to the general election the polls were all over the place.

Now it seems they are pretty uniform with Labour 2 to 5 points in front.

Have the polls changed their methology to same used by the Ashcroft mob who pretty much correctly forecast the result?

Or are these positive numbers for Labour arrived at by the old method?
