Surely that's it for Priti. Absolute madness and totally irresponsible for a Minister to meet with another country's Prime Minister without clearing it with the PM first, and not even telling No 10 or the FO afterwards. She has no idea what lines No 10 and the FO are taking with Israel, that she might trample all over in her arrogant boots. And, finally, she lied about it in statements to the Press. Sayonara at the next reshuffle.

If Boris' screw-up directly causes a British woman to get a longer sentence he should be kicked out too. Everyone knows he is not capable of performing the job he has got, but causing damage like this is unacceptable. And trying to save face by claiming his remarks were misinterpreted, even though it will probably make the situation even worse, just shows what a nasty piece of work he is. They weren't misinterpreted - they were wrong. He needs to issue a statement saying he was misinformed and his previous statement was incorrect. And then shut up.

As if we need any other reason to dislike Mrs Brown's Boys.

For Boris, Gove, and Priti - Team Vote Leave - they can basically do as they wish, PM cannot risk the consequences of firing them.

I'm sure you're right about Boris and Gove - and the same applies to Davis. Also Grayling and Fox for now, God help us. Priti must be much more exposed, though. She has teflon as the outspoken ultra-right-wing Asian and has got away with previous stuff, but this is such a serious (and deliberate) series of transgressions. Just meeting other countries' Ministers without approval was bad enough, but a Prime Minister, FFS. And she went in with no briefing, no debrief, no official backup to verify what was discussed if it all went wrong.

Probably even worse was to then keep the PM in the dark for months so that, when May met the Israeli PM last week, she didn't know that he had had a recent meeting with a British Minister. And then Patel had a public row with the FO, for which she ended up being told by May to apologise publicly and admit she had lied right up to last Friday.

We are told that No 10 is furious with her. Never mind the lies, we can't have a Minister running their own independent foreign policy separate to her own government. She has also lost two public spats with Boris in less than a week and been carpeted twice within a few days by May. No-one could survive just one of all these transgressions in normal times. If May doesn't ditch her soon it will be a green light for the others to go feral.

Has there ever been a cabinet more full of people who, quite obviously, shouldn’t be there?

The more I re-read the amazing Priti Patel Israel statement, the more I think it's a plea from civil servants to PM:

sack this minister, she is completely out of control.

May has operated positive discrimination scheme for Brexiteers: Patel, Leadsom, Fox, Johnson all out of their depth.
