Tip for married life- ask her what she would like to do, suggest an alternative that you like and compromise by doing what she wants. Applies to all scenarios. #happywifehappylife

Great update David - many congrats to both of you.

PS I'd wager Titty could retrieve your old blog - he seems to have a knack for stuff like that.

Thanks Smiley

Ahh yeh, I know if I stuck with the guy for long enough he'd come in useful eventually - Titty, this is your time.

your blog was scraped 15 times in it's existence, some of the pictures still work some don't.

the blue dots on the over all calender view here show the dates it was scraped  (http://prntscr.com/i78gpa).

you'll have to copy/paste the whole url as it wont like a double url on the forum board.

Cool thing happened today.

When i had the restaurant I was very much in the belief that people should be private about what they earn etc. Then one day I was thinking it might be a fun experiment to see what would happen if everyone in the building knew exactly how much each other got paid

What I did was lay everyones payslips out on my desk and told everyone I had to go uot but all payslips were on my desk. Obviously next 2 weeks are full of moaning "why am I getting paid £7.85 when John gets £8" etc was entirely negative...

All except one guy, young lad who worked in the kitchen who I'd always thought was a nice hardworking lad. He came to my office and said to me "David - I know John is earning £9 an hour and I'm only on £7.75 - what do I have to do to earn £9 an hour as well?"

I thought the attitude was so good i snap put him on £8.50 and told him that truthfully he wasn't as skilled as John (who'd been there 7 years) but that he certainly could be given a little more experience. Then 2 days later someone came to my office saying that it ws unfair this guy was getting £8.50 and he wasn't. I said to him - did he tell you about the conversation he had with me? He said yes he did. I told him if if he can come to me in the next 3 days and tell me why i put him to £8.50, then he can have £8.50 too.  The guy never came back to me and actually quit a few weeks later!

So today i got an email from the guy who i gave the payrise too, he is now working a really good job at a sale company and he just employed that guy who came to me after!!!  Look at me, shaping lives Wink

I dont think using peoples livlihoods for the sake of my own experimental entertainment is actually something we should really be doing though.

If I ever apply for a job with you, Dave, remind me of the parable of the staff who sang for their supper!

Great news. Even when it comes to romance, you give it everything. Superb.

Gotta agree whole heartedly with Tal's sentiments.

Good on you and all the best, can't imagine you working anything less than 100% to make it a great life together
