Schmeichel

Pereira Evans Maguire (or Morgan if he leaves until Dunk/Tarkowski an other arrive) Chilwell

Ndidi Tielemans

Albighton/Barnes/Gray, Perez, Maddison

Vardy

---

Maddison plays left hand side of the three drifting in. Did for a lot of last season

Tielemans is the deep lying playmaker

In rotation/Vardy suspension situations Perez plays up top and Maddison goes central

Have you ever known us have a stronger squad of players Tighty?

I certainly can’t remember having so many options for so many positions. Let’s hope we hit the ground running this season!!

yes it all looks very encouraging

Don't mind if we get £80m for Maguire either.

£17m into £80m in two years, job done

then enjoy Maddison, Tielemans, Barnes, Gray, Chilwell, Choudury etc until we get big money for them. Three academy products in that list.

I enjoy the more focussed transfer policy. Perez, Tielemans and James Justin looks a far cry from summer transfer windows of Musa, Slimani, Hernandez, Mendy, Iborra, Silva etc. Lot of money wasted there on players that never settled in England and in some cases weren't suited to play the pace of our game anyway

Should be making a serious run at 7th and European football this season and were one of Arsenal, Chelsea, United to falter an outside shot at 6th

plus taking a cup seriously and trying to win it should draws co-operate would be good

two seasons on the trot we have put out a weakened team and lost at home on penalties to Manchester City in the league cup quarters, for example.

There are only 3 trophies a season to win, lets try and win one please Brendan and not be half hearted if we get a run.

Josh Knight spent a lot of his loan spell at Poshies this season injured. Had to go back at one point.

Saw enough of him in later games to know he'll end up much higher than L1 though. Turned in the best performance of the season by a Poshie at Pompey playing in front of the back four last midweek. Was everywhere.

Guy Branston is in charge of loans I believe, which at least keeps him off Radio Cambs. Imagine Steve McManaman but tens time more annoying.

Hope he sends him back for another stint.

And...the mighty Posh are now going back. Expecting young Josh to make the L1 team of the season and to fire us back up to the Champo.

Since losing his opening game in charge of Leicester, Brendan Rodgers' record is:

Won 7. Drawn 4. Lost 2.
Scored 22. Conceded 10.
Points 26 (from a possible 39).

Only Liverpool and Manchester City have gained more points during that period of 13 games than lcfc

Now it gets tougher after the break, United and Spurs

I think we have a better starting XI than United (and the form of Soyuncu makes the sale of Maguire look a fantastic piece of business for the price), but still a tough game there

With Chelsea faltering though, we have our sights on the top six

Definitely exciting times Tighty and September could be a season defining month. This squad is very strong and we have a wealth of riches in most positions. My only concern is upfront where if JV is missing for whatever reason we only really have Ihneacho to call on. With Slimani have a purple patch at Monaco it’s a shame we let him go and not Ihneacho imho.

As for Chelsea faltering at the mo I’ve not been over impressed with any of the big six outside MC and Liverpool so far.

Roll on October!

I think his response to the Sun tweet, “turned up wearing a horrific £6500 rucksack.....” of “could be worse, turning up carrying a Sun newspaper” was just pure class!

5 wins 2 draws 2 losses in 9 games. Already played 5 of last season's top six too

3rd as i write, with Man U and Spurs struggling then top six should be on the cards for most of the season

Still exciting times, good young side, well coached and plenty of money to spend in January if we need to

Been on the right side of VAR so far this season too, but I can't say as a Gooner that I'm not concerned about your potential.
