Never seen it before but stumbled across the Team America Film from  2004.

How alarmingly accurate a parody of The USA, Thunderbirds, the Muslim threat and North Korea, it has proven to be!!!

Trump has predicted that over 100 policy goals would happen "soon." At least 75% of the time, they didn't.

"The simple explanation for Trump's outbursts is that he has poor impulse control and/or is bigoted. Usually the simple explanation is right"

Any White House needs to be able to agree a united team policy. Unfortunately Trump just ain't a team player, as evidenced once again this weekend.

It was known that the US was in touch with North Korea through three separate channels, but Tillerson (currently in China) confirmed it yesterday and indicated he wanted to take things down the diplomatic route. "We've made it clear that we hope to resolve this through talks. I think the most immediate action that we need is to calm things down. They're a little overheated right now, and I think we need to calm them down first."

Today, Trump completely undermined him by tweeting "I told Rex Tillerson, our wonderful Secretary of State, that he is wasting his time trying to negotiate with Little Rocket Man. Save your energy Rex, we'll do what has to be done!"

FFS, if he doesn't agree with what Tillerson is doing, why allow him to do it? Letting him take a position and then disagreeing publicly is madness. Instead of having a common plan, they are operating completely independently.

The Puerto Rican situation continues to deteriorate, both on the ground and politically. The federal response has been poor, considering there was plenty of notice of what was going to happen with Maria, albeit attention was on Harvey at the time. One indication of the poor quality of the federal response - four days ago, 44% of Puerto Ricans didn't have drinking water. Now it is 55%.

Also, there seems to be no situation so bad that Trump can't make it worse. Natural disasters should be easy wins for politicians, and he did relatively okay with Harvey, but he has floundered badly on this one. 18 tweets from him yesterday on Puerto Rico - praising the relief effort, still squabbling with the San Juan Mayor, suggesting the Puerto Ricans are not pulling their weight and attacking the media.

LOL  @ Favreau

Really is incred... SNL seems more like real life, than the actual goings on at the White House.

Trump is a smaller, shallower figure than most Shakespearean heroes—or villains, for that matter

Donald Trump’s need for flattery is trashing reputations

This is not Shakespearean drama: the penalty for characters who stand up to the king is too small for that

Quite the conversation Robert Reich had with a former Republican member of Congress. This is worth a read.
