Someone is digging through Trump's old tweets. I swear Trump and Brexit are the best thing that will ever happen to social media. Everyday is like Christmas.

The search for a Communications Director is also being prioritised. Spicer has been covering both this and Press Sec, whereas they have usually been separate. Jason Miller (not to be confused with Stephen Miller) was a key part of the campaign team and seen as a calming influence on the erratic Trump group. Miller, Spicer and Conway were announced as Comms Dir, Press Sec and Counsellor to the President the same day, but Miller withdrew just two days later, following tweets and statements from within the team (including Conway) about mistresses and 'baby-papas'. They could have done with him being around in the last few weeks, but it seems unlikely he will reappear.

Conway was offered the job, but turned it down, and they decided to make do with Spicer doubling up. Despite appearances, Spicer wasn't a Trumpite, but was brought in by Priebus from the Republican Party, where he was Comms Dir and Chief Strategist. His bizarre performances, though, haven't just bombed in the outside world - it is reported that Trump is unhappy with him too and has, justifiably, blamed Priebus for lumbering him with the guy. So the search to lighten his workload has been stepped up.

Absolutely amazing press conference today!

If he's knows he's innocent about Russia then good on him for blasting the media!

Come on Andrew! the attorney general has resigned about Russia. The FBI has confirmed that RUssia hacked Clinton, and that Trump's campaign spoke to them the same day.

I know him blasting the media plays very well with his core supporters but what is actually happening is a national embarrassment. Way out of his depth as an actual politician

I wish our politicians stood up to the media when they felt a genuine injustice was done, instead they are a bunch of pussies that court and pander to the media to try and sway favour to get good stories written and avoid the bad stuff as far as possible.

Also I don't mind the straight talking, better than the bland never actually answering any questions stuff we have now, I'm not really phased by stuff being shaken up anyway.

Guess what I'm saying is whilst Trump goes too far, I wish our politicians were at least a little bit like him (not talking about his views or anything, just his style).

The Trump team issued a questionnaire on Thursday, full of slanted leading questions, attempting to demonstrate bias in the media through a biased survey.

- Do you believe that the mainstream media has reported unfairly on our movement?
- Do you believe that the mainstream media does not do their due diligence fact-checking before publishing stories on the Trump administration?
- Do you believe that political correctness has created biased news coverage on both illegal immigration and radical Islamic terrorism?
- Do you believe that the media purposely tries to divide Republicans against each other in order to help elect Democrats?
- Do you believe that the media wrongly attributes gun violence to Second Amendment rights?

Best of all, the self-contradicting:
- On which issues does the mainstream media do the worst job of representing Republicans? (Select as many that apply.)

The objectives are, presumably, to get some stats they can quote and to collect email addresses for the reelection campaign. That seems to have started already - note the 2020 signs at the Florida rally last night.

Unfortunately, those damn Democrats and liberals have been filling in the questionnaire and are giving the wrong answers, so there has been a quick follow-up:

If you would like to help redress the balance by giving the right answers and put the liberal media in its place, you can do so here: https://action.donaldjtrump.com/mainstream-media-accountability-survey/

Clashes have already arisen between the new Cabinet and the White House. It seems that the Department Secretaries were under the impression they could appoint their own Deputies and senior staff, but the White House has been rejecting many of them.

All-in-all, the new Cabinet members seem to have discovered that they don't have as much power as they thought, not just on staffing.

Rex Tillerson's position as Secretary of State already looks very weak. Apart from having his choice of Deputy rejected, foreign policy seems to be being decided centrally by Trump, Bannon, Kushner etc, without State input. Unbelievably, he has been left out of most of the meetings with foreign leaders (and played a minor role in the ones he was invited to), didn't feature in the charm offensive with the EU and wasn't consulted about Iran being put "on notice" or the change of position on Palestine.

And Betsy DeVos has lost a battle with Jeff Sessions over transgender toilets in schools, a high-profile issue Stateside (she wanted to keep Obama's rules allowing them to use whichever toilets they identify with, but Trump over-ruled her and backed Sessions). It seems that this Attorney General is going to take a very pro-active role facing down independently-minded Secretaries.
