Who would want to work for this President? Trump misunderstands and misstates the legal terms, so US Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer sets them out correctly, pretending to explain them to the Press Corps, but actually trying to educate the President. Trump is determined to prove his idiocy, however, and not only fails to take the expert’s input on board, but flatly contradicts him and expands on his previous statement, again completely incorrectly, in front of the Chinese delegation. Everyone in the room knows that Trump is wrong - you can see the Chinese nodding during Lighthizer’s explanation. He is in a tough spot but does remarkably well to clean it up.

People have made such a fuss about Trump’s ‘Tim Apple’ slip. This kind of thing could happen to anyone. For example, here’s someone doing the same thing with Marillyn Hewson (Lockheed Martin CEO) just last year.

Having  done his best to hold back LGBT rights in Indiana for years, Mike Pence has seen the light, hanging out with Irish PM Leo Gay and his partner Matt while his wife is away in Abu Dhabi at the Special Olympics.

It’s a new world since Democrats took control of the House committees and Trump’s Cabinet Secretaries have been feeling the heat. Kirstjen Nielsen took a pasting recently, but it was even worse for Commerce Sec Wilbur Ross this week, as he was not only beaten to a pulp, but he was accused of lying to Congress, which can have severe consequences. The highlight centred around whether a question on citizenship should be added to the next census, which he is attempting to do in a blatant act of voter suppression.

The last couple of minutes of this clip go on to other issues.
