Arsene Wenger believes China spending will help "easily" create world's first £100m player http://bit.ly/1X7NYAW

i listened to a programme this week where it was talking about western coaches going over and getting some structure into the game, developing academies and putting huge resources into turning the indigenous population onto football. At the same time the wealthy corporate interests owning the league clubs are going to be the big draw for players in terms of wages....

Not as much as Brazil are, America still attracting the players it wants to by and large.

The very promising young title winning side of Santos have nearly all gone to China and prevented a promising side developing. Some of them would have left anyway dont blame them never know when your next chance for a big payday will be

Could understand it when it was russia and they still had european cups but its just sad to see footballers who could still make a huge name for themselves all but retiring. Its not like the 30m players above need the money, fair enough someone in brazil thats not made their money but the three mentioned above are just selling their career to play in a pointless league. Do it when you arent good enough to play at a decent level, like the mls or middle east (or even former chinese system) imo.

To be fair, a lot of people said the same about Beckham as he could have walked into a lot of top European sides when he went to America. But he wanted to grow the sport over there so may be some of these are thinking along the same lines  ;-)

Seriously though, if someone offered me a little less/the same/more money, to do a LOT less work, then I'd do it!

Think his wife just wanted to live there lol, after his behaviour in madrid unsurprising it was her turn to pick. Only place he went on loan were big fashion cities. Under the thumb imo.

Surprised the Ukranian-based players have moved

On big big money massive Brazilian community of players there treated very very well suspect in some cases it is agent pressure above a lot else.

Could easily come back to europe within 6-12 months also

Chinese team offered Ighalo 300k per week in the summer as a championship striker so goodness knows what they would pay Oscar.

Fortunately for Watford Ighalo says he prayed and God told him not to accept.

I was meaning that I doubt Chelsea would turn down an offer that big for him.

The rest of the football world should be worried if he's got a long term plan for football in China.

Clubs with no history trying to buy success. They should be ashamed.
