So some observations from the latest walk round

Happened to catch a few things

Lee Naylor (I think this is the Wolves and celtic footballer, in fact almost sure it is) Raised UTG+1 and Florian Duta called in the big blind

the flop came 9-7-6

it went bananas

Duta check raised and Naylor shoved, call

Duta 8-5 for the straight and four to the flush in spades

Naylor two red sixes but behind

turn 8

river 7 to send Naylor's stack into the stratosphere

Just roughly it was at least a 120,000 pot

on the next table i think Eleanor Gudger is the chip leader with over 170,000

either side of her though are Lawrence "everyone calls me Bertie" Bailey and Sylvia Hewitt both with 140,000

--

On a table across from them Brammer is big blind to Keith Johnson's button. going to return to that table shortly, both very inscrutable when you watch them and both battled for a long time in the high roller yesterday so there is some history

--

In a row at the far end of the room.

seat 6 jabracada
seat 7 middly
seat 8 tim chung
seat 9 steve warburton

the foursome have been picking a suit each and side betting for £ flop textures

in seat 1, lurking with a somewhat different style is Mad Turk

i will be back at that table too

--

On another table Gryko is button into one of the Laming brothers and Steve Watts in the blinds. If i had more than one pair of eyes id go and look there too

- and then turning round i spy Fred Wise, looking like a cross between David Gest and Daniel Radcliffe (imagine it) who looks to have entered late and already doubled his stack

i am going to pop the latest seating up again. i'd prefer if you tell me which table you want me to transcribe some hands from.

Ian Gascoigne is playing, fitting us in between a busy schedule that over the next month involves Sheffield Wednesday, Cheltenham races for two days, watching his horse at Newbury, a day trip to Paris for the six nations and probably running the world's financial system too

in bad news for the friday night cash games he has 98,400  and going strong

You crack me up Tighty!

The truth is though mate all Lord Gascoignes activities are readily available in all the top celebrity "gossip" magazines or the Royal engagements section in the Times

weird structure, agonisingly slow for 9 levels then too quick in the last 3 or 4 levels

was similar in the 2k. i dont mind having bigger starting stacks if thats what people want but we really dont need to be 500bb deep ever. imo if 50k stacks then we should be starting @ 100/200 (with 25 antes would make it even better but fine without if it has to be that way for the main). it's a waste of everyone's time in those first few levels, and particularly for re-entry events we should be encouraging a bit more action early. would also encourage people to register on time, although again this might only be an issue in side events.

Absolutely this.

DTD seemed to have nailed structures in recent years, so why it's like this for this event seems bizarre.

Gave me couple extra hours in bed tho waiting for the antes to kick in though!

For balance, I love the 40/50/60 min clock for day 1/2/3!

Any and all transcriptions will be most welcome rather like long-lost friends.

The four amigos with Mad turk lurking sounds rather like something full of Eastern promise manufactured by Fry's.
