There are two players at or near the chip lead. Frustratingly i walked along half way through the key hands that got them there

Shaun Johnston knocked out Ivor Frost with 10-9 v 7-7 on 10-9-5-2

Piecing it together with my ears open, Johnston was waxing lyrical to anyone who would listen (and anyone who wouldn't) about how he was "only stealing pre-flop" and "he must have put me on ace-king to move in then" (i assume on flop or turn)

Simon Higgins meanwhile is sat in a seat 9 having pushed his last 44,000 into a monster pot on the river of a

three diamonds

He catches my eye. I catch his. He looks away. I try to get a read.

Meanwhile his opponent in seat 1, the other side of the dealer is Robert Alexander.

Alexander covers Higgins

I wait as Alexander decides whether to call

Several minutes later i am still waiting

The clip clap of chips being riffled around the table interrupts the air of tension

Higgins looks impassive

Eventually Alexander calls

Higgins flips , from the cut off

Which was not what i had put him on

As Alexander mucks, presumably neither did he.

Johnston and Higgins are on over 200,000 just approaching the final break of today with 3 levels left to play
