RIP, surprised he got to 65.  I did have to smile whilst reading associated stories this morning of a tweet to find a replacement to the lyric "you scumbag, you maggot, you cheap lousy faggot."  Naturally, just leave the original alone and accept it for the times it was written in, but hopefully Shane himself would approve of one offering:  "you scumbag, you maggot, you've taped over Taggert."

Sad to see Shane go -  was surprised to see Pogues at #4 most listened to in my spotify 'wrapped' thing for 2023. More tragically as he seemed fighting fit a few months ago, the incredible guitarist Geordie Walker, of my #2 most listened to, died Age 64, at the weekend - genuinely gutting as would have hoped to see them live again before I shuffle of this mortal coil. RIP Geordie

Heard a recording of him reciting this poem on the radio a couple of weeks ago. RIP the immensely talented Benjamin  Z.

British guitarist Tony Clarkin, best known as the founder and songwriter behind hard rock band Magnum has passed away at the age of 77, after a short illness.

I will never know how the band didn't make monster status like Def Leppard, Bon Jovi etc. They had it all, great songs, musicians, and ofc the important things in the 80's big hair and a wind machine.
