Space 1999 was one of my favourite shows as a kid but around here Martin Landau will be best known for this...

Chester Bennington, lead singer of Linkin Park found hanged on what would have been the birthday of his friend Chris Cornell. Aged 41. He had battle alcohol and drugs issues. I'm assuming he got thinking about his buddy and couldn't take it any more. I'm shocked.

We went to Birmingham to see them two weeks ago today, something we'd always wanted to do, we were looking forward to their next tour seeing then again, hell of a singer. But obviously had some issues. Even their latest single. "I keep dragging around what's bringing me down, if I could just let go I'd be set free" from Heavy.

Urgh thats a tough one

Hybrid Theory was the first album I ever bought.

Their videos were way ahead of their time too. Had to catch a bit of Kerrang before mum got back from work and it was time to turn 'that noise' off Cheesy

RIP

I can understand why people would have a connection with Dermot O'Leary, and would feel sad if he died.  But right now on facebook, people are publically blubbing over the death of his cat.   It is in half the paper's today.

Yesterday, surely 99% of these people didn't even know he had a cat.

RIP Silver, you will be sorely missed by one man and a few loons.  Hold on to your cats tightly tonight people.  And if you haven't got one, imagine holding on to one belonging to some celeb or other.

RIP Glen Campbell. Died age 81. Country not my music but his songs remind me of my childhood. A legend of the music industry.

Sad news to hear of Glen's passing, yet another victim of that dreadful disease, Alzheimer's.

The younger folks here (under 50....) may not know much of Glen, & I was not a particular fan, but he was a huge star in his day, & sold over 45 million albums.

RIP Glen.

When we were about to leave school, they trooped in a succession of people to talk to us. The only thing I remember now is the man from the 'Married Couple' saying that "There's been a load of compromisin' on the road to my horizon" is a good approach to life.

Good advice.
