True showbiz legend.  75 years in the game.  Incredible.  Didn't know what retirement meant.  Proper proper man.  Truly loved his life and industry.  How can you live your life any better than doing whatever you want to do for your whole life and getting paid fortunes to do it when you had enough money to retire at 50 if you wanted to?  RIP Bruce.  You have lived your dream.  That is all anyone can want out of their life.

Used to love watching him and Dean Martin , a time of great double acts.

Do the BBC not think it would be prudent to wait a couple of years until they are sure the coast is clear before erecting statues of dead entertainers?

Yes & no.

He had a false leg, but the prison Service contrived to lose it. It was, presumably, not attached to Sams at the time.

He sued the prison Service, & received a nice lump in compo.

Walter Becker, 50% of Steely Dan.

Do It Again was the first track of theirs that permeated my largely rock consciousness, but it was Aja that I bought and loved. For me, it was a major discovery of new, cool, sophisticated sounds that could be described as jazz-influenced. I then started buying up their back catalogue and found some fantastic gems. Still listen to them now.

RIP Mr Becker, only 67 years old
