Any mealtime porridge.

1 cup milled/old fashioned oats.

1 ½ cups semi skimmed milk.

1 good pinch of salt.

1 heaped teaspoon sugar.

1 dessert spoon honey.

1 level dessert spoon mixed seeds.

1 heaped dessert spoon chopped almonds.

1 small handful dry roast peanuts.

Put porridge and milk into a large bowl and microwave for 5 minutes. You're looking for a cake like consistency, i.e. turn the bowl over and nothing falls out.

Scatter on the other ingredients in the order they are listed.

Enjoy.

If it won't fall out of the bowl how are we supposed to scatter it on to everything else?

Any alternative cooking method for those of us without a microwave?

You could try wrapping it in clay and leaving it in the embers of the fire overnight.

That's exactly how I eat my porridge. Apart from the seeds. And the nuts. And the salt. And the microwave.

Cold oats ftw. Family think I was a horse in a previous life.

The cup of tea looks good.

Wouldn't a knife and fork be better?

The rumour when I was a young lad was that was how the local Gypsies cooked Hedgehogs. Not as willing as I was back then to believe this now.
