$1500 Omaha hilo mix

Four card limit

Limits 500-1000

Puke

HJ opens, I three bet button with Two Clubs.

One factor at this point is that he has seen me play very tight, as he has been at the table only in in the last two hours, where I have been card dead.

Flop is  (Pair of sixes) At this point I plan to bluff two streets, if the turn is a high card.

Turn is . (Pair of sixes) He checks, I bet, he raises.

There is big suspicion in my mind from this point. He looks potentially nervous, and I feel he would probably have raised the flop with a king.

River is two hearts.

He bets. I feel there's alot of factors that make it suspicious. They are

1) I have a very tight image, specifically to him after his late arrival, to see me seem to play very tight. This both gives me aces alot iny mind, which he may try to take me off, and suggests to him that I may fold against a bluff

2) He bet the river almost too quickly

3) He not always, but often, check raises the flop with a king

4) He looked Slightly nervous

I do call. He  says "aces are good." He was bluffing. But he was bluffing with the better hand. He has A883.

Ouch it's painful, to find someone bluffing with the better hand. There is a case to say that I should just raise, if I feel he is bluffing, to make sure. But given I have a six, the range of hands that he thinks he is bluffing with, but do still beat me, is very narrow.

( I think it's pretty bad for him to bluff with his hand, by the way. It's  too tough to take someone off aces for two bets in a pot that is made bigger by the pre-flop three bet. And it's not a great rep, given he didn't check raise flop)

$1500 Omaha hilo mix

Four card pot limit

Nice one

I have three clubs Two Diamonds on the button, UTG limps, and I raise pot to 1,400

Flop is (nut flush)

She bets the pot, 3,300.

Beautiful. But big decision. The hand I may need to raise against is not a set ("protection" here is nonsense, we get the money in on the turn anwyay). The hand I may need to raise against is a low flush- that hand may just get scared off by a turn board pair.

She may of course be bluffing, or somehow light. I decide to call.

I'm thinking "please don't pair the board"before the turn. And it doesn't. two spades.

I have just less than pot, and the good news continues as she says "pot." She has three diamonds three clubs Two Clubs for a low flush. It's nice to get it in with them drawing dead in this game.

It's interesting what she should do with the flush. On the turn, as played, I think it's right to bet, as it's so tough to check-fold anyway, and I may well have a set or two pair. But I think it's betting the flop (and definitely betting pot) that doesn't carry enough value, to make up for the inability to escape from being committed

These hand explanations are absolutely fascinating (especially the nut flush & the bluffy one).

I have to read & re-read them to try to grasp some of the concepts.

No wonder I'm shite, this stuff is different level.

Great read.

When time permits I may ask some questions about some of the stuff which I'm struggling to grasp.
