$10,000 limit holdem

OUT

Sigh. I ran into a brick wall in that last hour of cold 4bets in a tournament where there had been very few cold four bets, and it continued into the bust out hand.

Monnette raises HJ, I 3bet button with . Small blind cold fours. (Really bad news). Monnette calls, I call.

I have 13k in a pot of 78k

Flop is three clubs.

Small blind bets, Monnette folds.

It's going to be a nasty likely way to go but I have to call it off. I am calling 13k to win 104k, and, with two backdoors, will have better than the 7-1 which that requires.

(Equity calculator gives me 25% Vs top 10% hands, and 18% Vs AK with no Spade)

I call, he has , we pick up hope on three clubs , but brick on

three clubs three diamonds.

Sigh. We now have the two potential 3ks left if I don't make day 3/4 of the Main respectively.

Gutted about today. Sorry the package has gone badly, I've found a brick wall at one point of each 10k.

Do send bank details if you would like payment up to this point.

Book-keeping

So, the Main Event  (not on this package) starts tomorrow, and I'll update on the other thread. We have remaining (if I don't make the respective days of the Main)

3k Limit six max, Day 3 (Monday)
3k No limit holdem, Day 4 (Tuesday)

Raise KC JC UTG to 1,700, rec defends  the big blind.

Flop  three diamonds. He checks , I bet 1,700. He semi snap calls.

Turn three diamonds . He checks, I bet 3,900. He calls fairly quickly but....

It's strange. He's a rec but he hasn't done anything too
stubborn. But now something new happens . He shrugs in frustration, and semi-snap calls. I'm 99% sure the shrug is not an act. He basically has a weak ace. Given the new behaviour, I think it must mean he's getting tired.

River is   three diamonds two hearts.

Ah this is a decision. We obviously have on one hand that he has basically telegraphed that he went to the river with one pair of aces. And the other hand is his frustration. I nearly fire. Maybe I should. I think ultimately, whether this is tiredness or frustration, maybe the chips go in. We're going to end up in that classic spot where he "knows he is beat," but may well throw the chips in

Hmm I still don't know. Maybe a mistake.

Bagging up 35,200 now. Anticlimactic day. Really happy to be there

$3,000 limit six max

So we're in the 3k limit six max. This was the event that Max Silver won last year.

The days break after the Main- well, after my days work of two hands Sad  - was good, but very excited for these last two events now.

We've actually started four handed. 20k starting stack, I've got 18,800

$3000 limit six max

Now five handed. 20,100 from 20k

Just two main ones.

Four handed, CO raises at 100-200, I three bet .

Flop is a wonderful . Bet, he calls.

Turn is . (Full house and probable flush draw if I
need it)

I bet. He raises. This is the decision of the hand...

For a raise

Clearly my equity is decent even if we give him the narrowest range possible to range possible of just straights and flushes.

I will also lose the chance to get the extra bet if I should lead (rather than check raise) a heart river, and I feel that is probably is indeed a lead.

For a call

Clearly if I do run into the straight or flush range, it costs me two bets when he raises.

It's a nice spot if the river is going to give me a house. Then I get to check raise- which wins my extra bet when I make a house Vs flush/straight, but saves me a bet when I check-call the non-paired/non-heart rivers.

Anyway, as you can tell, it's often only the detail of one decision of a limit Holdem hand that is interesting , and more important is just to hit

I call. And a check raise gets called on the lovely river of
