Terrible shame as resorts was a top place to play cash games last couple of years.  Doesn't surprise me that they are pulling the plug across the country if resorts is going as that was effectively their poker .   Don't quite understand why they don't just run cash games in their bigger venues with zero mtts.  Less floor space needed, more income per table.   They obviously need the floor space in the short term as well.

Yuck. I presume there will still be an appetite for live poker amogst punters when this goes, so this may be an opportunity for Grosvenor?

I know Rich (DIK9) is a blonde member and still posts now and again.  Would just like to wish him and his staff all the best for the future and thank them for running a very enjoyable card room to play in.    Great craic and a good bunch of reg players.  Big shame but the decision was taken at board level across the estate so beyond his team's control.

There is the small matter of nearly £50k worth of 'bad beat' types promos resorts have collected from regs in the last year for things that haven't been won but the punters have been 'taxed' for for months.   This needs to be sorted and punters refunded.    Regular cash game players have been paying £100s a month via increased 'promo rake' into jackpots that are now not going to be won.   I have no idea how they are going to sort this but they are sitting on nearly £50k at resorts that is effectively players money that now can't be won, through no fault of our own, which we have all paid into and won less/lost more during each session for well over a year to fund these.   Genting can't be allowed to keep this.   Sorry for lowering the tone when dozens have lost their jobs but this needs to be addressed and fairly.   No idea how they will do it but they can't be allowed to just hoover up the nearly £50k pot all the players have paid towards for months with now no way to win it.

I had two trips to Resorts World for team events.
What could have been chaotic days ran perfectly.
Great dealers too. Rich will surely do well wherever he goes.

hardly going to set a precedent that casinos are legally allowed to free roll customers

Interesting outlook on the situation.   No idea who the writer is.  Certainly going to be interesting to see what G casino's response is to this is given Genting have effectively gifted them the button of acting last.   I imagine their decision might have changed substantially since Genting's announcement.
