You're doing a great stand-in job Ben. Hope you're having fun.  thumbs up

fantastic mate..as you know i thrive on poker and football. So being part of things like this are making dreams come true.

TY BlondePoker!

No, thanks Sunday!  Even now he's off in the thick of things while I waffle on the laptop.  And he's a better photographer after a couple of days with tikay's camera than I am after a year.

An asset all round.

Speaking of pictures (oh what a segue) here's Nik Depala as of half an hour ago.  Not sure if he remains in, but I'm off to have a look.  He looked very absorbed in his ipod so to verify his identity I just showed him a bit of paper with "ARE YOU NIK?" written on it.

And here's the small matter of how much wonga they are playing for today...

1st - £135,000
2nd - £72,500
3rd - £44,300
4th - £26,200
5th - £20,200
6th - £16,100
7th - £10,100
8th - £7,100
9th - £5,000
10th - £4,000
11-14th - £3,000
15-18th - £2,500
19-23rd - £2,000
24-24th - £1,750

I'm bemused by the fact that there's a bigger gap between 6th and 7th than 5th and 6th.

With 36 players left, Martin just doubled up to 90k!

Bambos was the initial raiser to 7k, called by Jan on the button.  Martin made it another 18k to go (pretty commit-y).  Bambos passed but Jan dwelled for an age before re-raising so that it was an all-in situation.

Jan showed:
Martin showed:

Flop:    (aaaah went the table)
Turn:    (oooh went the table)
River:

They're actually paying to 27 (same as the last money) and that was the original reasoning behind the ridiculously early planned finish tonight when it hit that number.  This would set tomorrow up to be a VERY long day indeed, and people (like El Blondie) are gently but firmly pushing for a few more levels to play out tonight, seeing as it's only 9:30.

Yes, I think it's his fringe.  He's got nearly bang on 100,000.

Nik Depala has 64,000, too.

Jan is a great gambler

Jan is a great player, but even great players make mistakes! Aparently he thought Martin was weak and declared he thought Martin was on a 'squeeze' play.

Im glad he did get his read wrong though! gooooooooooo Martinnnnnnnnn!!
