I will travel 100 miles or so, pay a couple of hundred quid to enter a poker competition, bust out in the first hour, and still consider it to be money well spent

On the other hand, I went to buy an old bogey trailer from a farmer today, it was just what I wanted, it had a sturdy chassis on landrover wheels, deep sides, good brakes, working lights, the lot.

After about an hour of long hard haggling, he declared his final asking price to be £125 and I declared my final offer to be £100.

I really wanted this trailer, what do you think happend?

Given that you're posting here, he haggled and you paid £120.

you decided he was bluffing, called and you lost

The very last hand of the night goes to Dewi James, who finds ACES and talks Raymond O’Mahoney into calling his all-in preflop bet of 15k.  “If I had AQ, I’d call!” says Dewi.  Raymond calls holding pocket 66’s.

Correct, I left empty handed, the extra £25 seemed really important, had it been a re-buy in a comp I wouldn't have thought twice about it

Half an hour later, he rang to say I could have it for £100
