He is right, too many players play too many small-medium buyin tournaments these days where it means giving up 2 days to play a £200/£300 tournament. When its probably massively higher EV to sit indoors and play online.

the original thread was aimed at me ,

anyone that didnt get to read it good

it was someone whom i know through poker who was playing a prank

it all went out of preportion .

after finding some previouse threads of his i found out who it was .

let me say this about the man in question hes a very good poker player

and i think within the next few years youll be saying how good he is

when he decides to go on the circuit youll all see

hes one of the best readers in the game ,better than lawrance in his own words

some one mentioned youve got to win plenty of tourneys to get you through

the year ,well you couldnt be more right .

last year with all tourny prize money from the circuit and sheff /notts mine was 250k

iv not played  much this year because of shortage of cash ,AND BAD BISSUNESS

im not afraid to tell people this we all have bad times ,BUT ILL BE BACK

I think the reason you don't like the internet is because you dont have anyone to tell your bad-beat stories to. When you are playing live, you can walk up to anyone who doesn't turn away and regale them with the horrors of having a card that is certainly still in the deck coming on the river.

Although I might try this live-game lark, I am seduced by the fact that worst hands never win, and bad-beats never occur

I agree with you Barry.

However, online for cash, live for a laugh. Its a winning combo

You said that playing online is a "mugs game".

That is what I found funny. Also, Totalise sarcastic post was very funny as well.

I did play live in Vegas last year at the WSOP, and my experience was probably the worst poker one I have ever had.. my own thoughts are that there isn't a "proper" game, just two different beasts, and anyone that insults live or internet poker is just being unreasonable

As you say, each to their own.

As an aside, one thing you cant do (very well ) on the internet is make a read, and that certainly held my opponents in good stead when I was in a cash game in vegas, when I clearly said "fukk sake" whenever a card came on the river that I didn't enjoy. You can hide these things pretty well in cyber space Wink

Unless you can crush the net games on a regular basis then you are 1-10 to go skint as a UK Circuit Pro that wants to play £200 Freezeouts on a cold rainy Monday Night in Walsall. Unless you experience great short term variance then ur facing an uphill battle, where u put a lot of hours in for a shit pay packet.
