If Dott "acted like a moron", Ebdon has been "acting like a moron" for years.

What a let down.
I didn't see Shot of the Championship, The Amazing Bogdan, Mike Massey, a replay of Ronnie's 147 or anything decent this year.
Dott is a poor ambassador for snooker IMO. He acted like a moron when he won it and he is also the lowest standard World Champion I remember seeing. Even John Parrott wasn't this bad!
After he won his 15th frame in the final, his highest break was 65! Give me a break. What a poor year for snooker.
i think dott is the lowest standard world champ since mmm errr EBDON maybe?

I think "used to act like a moron" is more appropriate. He's actually a complete gent these days.

The year Ebdon won it he beat Steven Hendry in the 2nd closest contested final ever, scoring a lot of centuries along the way. That's not quite the same as Dott with his highest break of 65 in the final. I agree Ebdon wasn't the greatest World Champion but he was miles ahead of Dott!

Apparenty Dulux want to give Ebdon a £50,000 per year sponsorship deal. They have suggested he is boring. I can't see it myself.

The most overconfident too. He even speaks about himself in the third person. "If Sean Murphy loses it's because he didn't perform" - have a word.

The fact is that professional snooker is in decline having lost most of their sponsorship post tobacco.
Maybe the last two year's world championships have reflected that.

Agreed. Apparently the prizes were lower than last year.

Maybe. But there are some great youngsters coming through the ranks.

Maguire forgot his chalk at the start of the match. Murphy complained and the ref docked Maguire a frame. He didn't want him to go and get it from his dressing room. Whatever people have to say about Ebdon and Dott, neither would have been so unsporting. They are proper competitors. Murphy isn't in my opinion
