Two words probably sum today up best - BRIAN WILSON. I was lucky enough to play 2 hours of poker next to him today. Well I say play, I mean watch. From the very 1st hand he ran over the table. He knocked a total of 18 players out of the event, me being one of them. It's my small blind and it is passed to me, I find Kh-9d and think I'm good, so I raise with the blinds at 75/150 and make it 500 to play. He does excactly what I expect him to and puts me all-in. I call he turns over the famous 7c- 4c and had me drawing dead after the flop. He hits 3 clubs and im gone. I've heard people say all sorts about him today, lucky, mad, unstoppable - the list goes on. Personally I think the best word to describe his play today without showing too much respect is simply, frightening. Unfortunatley for Brian, 7c-4c was to be his downfall. He raised under the gun with it on the final table only to be set all-in. Brian immeditatly said it is the toughest decision he has had to make at a poker table. At this point julian says it's 7-4 isnt it, to which Brian replied yeah and it's suited and then says CALL. There was disbelief at what he had called with but before he called he already put his opponent on A-Q or A-K and said 2 live cards. When the flop came with 2-5-6 he looked in good shape but unfortunately didnt improve.

Right, I've played my Omaha Hi/Lo final and came quite a respectful 4th. I was 6th in chips going into the final and it was my 1st Hi/Lo event so I'm quite happy. The William Hill freeroll was just a crapshoot.

I said this a little tongue in cheek but it's as true as you like.

I finish playing the 35k online, really annoyed with myself, I built a good stack and played some good poker without having a really big hand and then I go and mke an idiot call and finish 56th. I think the best thing to do is head to the bar to get some drinks. In the bar I find Brian Wilson. I introduce myself to him and he's a really nice guy. I think this trip is about to get very lively.

I've just read Ben's post on the other thread and I'm afraid this might seem a little tame in comparision. I have not been swimming with nearly naked air hostesses neither have I been dancing on top of a bar to Bob Marley. I suppose that is the price I have to pay for being married.(If only i was 19 again Wink)

I've decided to start a seperate thread to Sunday8pm so you dont have to listen to me rambling on if you dont want to.

I set out at 5am yesterday morning on my journey to Gatwick. After i said an upsetting goodbye to my wife and sleeping kids, my father-in-law took me down to the airport. He used to be in the police police and he was an advanced driver. He loves driving so much that when he retired he set up his own private hire firm doing mainly airport runs. He had a pickup at Gatwick at 8am which was the same time i had to be there, which was a result, so a good start to the trip.
