Best choice from those available
Emery is so far removed from Wenger he is a man for small details a micro manager.

He only lasted a few months at Spartak Moscow.
I know very little about him but will certainly give him my support should he get the gig - my pocket would certainly prefer Eddie Howe to be given a shot.

Many a coach has moved to Russia and lasted months if that wouldn't bother me a bit.
Would not surprise me if he made a slowish start he really couldnt be more different to Wenger

Quite satisfied with Dick Emery.
At least he has some form of pedigree and a record of sorts.
It is interesting how different a picture can be painted, as the first notion I had of him was a post of Facecloth mentioning no top 4 finishes in La Liga and an overall lack of success at PSG, I was "christ, here we go again". Then you read his wiki and suddenly things aint quite so bad.
Have to admit, Arteta was a major concern. To me he epitomised all that was wrong with the last ten years. It looked like a money saving appointment. A guy with zero management experience and clearly there as a yes man. Lets be honest, as a Captain he brought us nothing, and even collected an FA Cup in his suit(major contributor.......). Me or Marky could have worked under Pep this year and Citeh would have won the title.
Good luck to him in the future, but not Arsenals man right now.
That said, Im not sure Dick is, but we are here now, and new thinking is what we need. Different thinking is what we will surely get....especially if no one can understand him.....

You, maybe, yes, but Marky? The Marky? That'd be worth at least 4 "sads" in the City thread title.
PS - Get your arse over to the Golf thread Adz, I asked 2 questions yesterday.

great article from Brassell as per
Good point about how Emery apart from Psg obviously favours the counter attack which if the players buy into it should suit the squad, big change needed in mentality though

Glad you've got this PSG guy. Arteta is highly regarded at City and I'm pleased he stays and continues to work under Pep.
What do you Gooners think of the appointment? Seems one of the best available options on the market.

Personally, as a number one fan, die hard gooner, so long as the manager isn't Mourinho, Allardyce, Rogers or Pardew i couldn't give a monkey's who the manager is. I'd like us to move to the Chelsea model of a new coach every year or two. I would have liked to see Benitez appointed tbf, got a real soft spot for him ever since his famous FACT ! rant.
