Obviously I'm not licensed to comment on anyone playing as high as Keef, and I won't say too much about the VIP games, although I have a couple of pretty funny stories as a dealer in there. Keith is inspiring to watch as a player, and clearly miles ahead of most of the players in the games when I was dealing. Would definitely be fun to sweat a sesh one time. Other great cash players I dealt to will be fairly predictable names on the list: Dan Morgan, Suuuuuuuprlim, Keith's own brother Mitch. Dave Burn provided some great entertainment on the PLO tables ofc.

As for tournament players, well... Most of the time at any one table at any one time, there were nine better tournament players than yourself. However, none with a coat so eclectic or a Scunny accent so thick. Cheesy

Nice start to your diary. What have been your poker highlights thus far? Where can you see yourself in 3 years time?

Thank you.

It's tough to call anything thus far a highlight as such. I've had a few results in the nightly comps at Dusk, but nothing that stands out as truly astounding. There was this one time last summer where I had an epic PLO swonnnnng, where I started running ridiculously good and moving up stakes far too quickly. This ended with me two tabling $1k hu sngs versus TheCranium. [  ] won both.

It's hard to say where I see myself. I mean my problem for a long time was staying away from roulette. If I took a bad beat, I would blow up and try and get my money back immediately on red or black. So, assuming I've grown out of that, I will be in three years time where I should be now. Braceletville.

Hi mate. Enjoying the diary. Is it broadway where you're playing?

Few questions if you don't mind:

Are you being backed or using your own roll? How many bi's do you have at 1/2?

Do you play online much?

Are you planning on trying to play bigger comps etc or are you firmly a cash game player?

Is the rake beatable at dtd/live venues?

lo sean

what rake they charge in gala nott matey?

bristol are taking the p1ss now with 10% £6 cap!

not too bad for 1/2/4 plo but the poor chaps playing .25/.50 are just chucking it away and dont realise.

Nottingham Gala charge 10% with a £5 cap, which seems to be the standard rate. The rake rates at Dusk are outrageous, but I guess drinks are free, dealing standard is excellent etc.

What games normally run in Bristol? Haven't heard of a live .25/.50 game since Alea tried and failed a couple of years back.

Drinks free in Dtd? Only ever got free drink and food in the VIP room and then I just tipped whatever it costs.
Can a decent living be made in £1/£2 in Nottingham. Too many people seem to know what they are doing these days and not enough easy money to go around. I don't know what your earning potential as a mcdonalds manager was but I imagine it would be tough to run a house and young family

Thanks George. Yes, will be playing Broadway. It's a shame the games are 10-handed there, but the chips are so awesome, and it feels so balla when you land the game behind the screen.

I'm playing out of my own roll at the moment. I wouldn't mind a backer obvvvv, although not actively seeking one. Don't want to post exact numbers, but have at least 50BI at 1/2.

I was playing online at Full Tilt, low/mid-stakes PLO 6max/hu cash which I consider my bread and butter. I don't consider myself a sicko by any means, just find these stakes very easy to crush. I don't put a lot of volume in online, and only really resort to it when my confidence is low and I need to fry some Europeans.

For the time being, I'm just playing cash. I have played the odd £100 comp at Dusk, but it's not my intention to grind MTTs neither live nor online. shudder. If I can find a backer, or at least sell some action, I'd certainly feel confident in £100-500 event, given the standard of the fields I've dealt to over the years.

Rake is obviously a massive issue that comes with playing live, but my edge in most games should cover it. Not so sure about playing cash at Dusk where the standard is, as a general rule, slightly higher (and the rake a bunch higher.) There are clearly winning players at Dusk, though, so I guess the answer to your question is "yes," but if you meant me in particular then perhaps I'm not so sure. Wink What are your views on the rake/juice at live venues, especially the comps at Dusk?
