Don't get me wrong; if this had happened in the tournament, between meals and pre you going home at 11pm, then I would have definitely called upon your expertise sir. Wink The floor was called over the most trivial thing on Tuesday. Someone had gone broke and said that they might be coming back with more cash. The dealer had acknowledged that the player in question had been gone more than 20 minutes (the maximum amount of time someone can reserve a seat with no chips in it) and allowed the next player on the list to come and sit down. The other player then came back after another 10 minutes or so, and kicked off. Now everyone at the table in the heat of the moment was giving their 2 cents, until I transformed into super-ex-dealerman and reminded everyone that it was up to the floor to decide. "Rabbit in the headlights" is the expression I'm going to use. The outcome is irrelevant, just making the point that even something so simple as this that just wouldn't happen in another cardroom ended up tilting the entire table and wasting a bunch of time, something that is very precious as a live player!

Might start a bring back the JK petition. The game is immediately in check when you're dealing, and nobody steps out of line when you're supervising. Think you might have to give up your role as a grammar nazi, though...

Haha. Sean is right Jason, I'm just messing around. As much as I like the others, they aren't amazing dealers, let alone floor staff. Most of the time they are in waaaaaay out their depths. It's something we're looking at sorting, but obviously we can't sort it overnight. I do what I can when I'm there, and I hope people think I do a good job, but it's more that people like me than I know what I'm doing xD.

Spencers still barred Paul, unfortunately. He's more back to Newcastle though. Miss him...

i know you are good mates but can not see why people play at gala when they have dtd, other than the games must be more profitable because of fish %age and rake. you are in an environment along with other casinos who dont care about the poker player and the small turnover they generate. all the best casino cardroom managers who show flair get moved onto positions within the company where they generate more income. i would think that you dont see your long term prospects working for £10/ an hour at gala but whilst you are there i am sure you are making the experience better for the people who play there.

Thanks Jason Wink. Pretty sure people do come to Gala because of how soft the games are and the fact the rake is pretty low, as you say. The dealers aren't THAT bad. Couple are more than adequate, better than like 70% of DTD in my honest unbias opinion. Rest aren't great but honestly, they're not that much worse than the DTD standard nowadays, as long as they pay attention. As for floor work, none of them have any real experience nor training, so it's hard to expect them to be amazing. Am trying to sort this out ATM.

Taking seans diary off track here, sorry Cheesy

It has to be said, it is ridiculous having someone like Jamie work alongside these mongs. Sorry Jamie.

I think Callum is by far the best. Scott is one of the most annoying humans I've ever met, he is competant at dealing, but I'd rather have anyone else because he just tilts the fuck out of me too much. Danny is alright tbf. Nathan - we've spoken about at length. Omg. Ashley, a merge between Nathan and Scott - thick as fuck and super annoying. Maybe I'm being biased, or maybe it's cos they only put the good dealers on the 1/2 (brag) but can't think of many dealers at DTD that are worse than these jokers.

The floor staff, well, that's another joke. They pretty much just go along with a public vote. Either a democratic analysis of who wants what, or they listen to the person shouting the loudest.  /rant

However, I mostly have a whole bunch of fun playing there. The games are full of some hilarious characters. The rake is low, you can buyin deep, the games are super soft and DTD isn't open 7days a week!

I love this diary, but the references to "Droolers, Retards, Mongs" etc is tilting the fcuk out of me.

These are mostly just young kids,  trying to earn a few quid rather than sign on.

Rant over.

Keep it going Sean.

Gala is just a way more fun atmosphere than DTD, the fact that Gala now happily let people who cant stand up enter helps this atmosphere imo!
