You won't need your car with all the trains services around. Saying that I would like to be the first to offer to drive you around.

Thank you for all the advice & comments as to the Red Light thing.

I need to examine the Documents again now, to see what's what, & they are not to hand right now. "Looking like another ban", groan. I just stopped a few yards over the line, in bad driving conditions, at 3am, & the molehill seems to have grown into a mountain.

Adding to my licence woes, I omitted to Diary - I think - that I got stopped for using a Moby whilst driving, 3 months ago, (I blame new phone, heap of poo, Chili's fault, obv), & that got complicated, too, as I presented my Documents (sort of) to the Police Station one day outside the 7 day window, which was not well-received. Replacement Insurance Certificate & Driving Licence (paper counterpart) subsequently organised, (unable to find originals of either) but Police were not interersted in viewing them by then - "nope, it's too late now, what part of "within 7 days" don't you understand?". The annoying thing is they only have to press a few buttons on their Computer & they can see instantly that I have a valid Insurance Certificate & Driving Licence. That was almost 3 months back, I've heard no more, & with every passing day, I was beginning to think I'd got that one through. But now that Red Light thing has popped up 7 months after the event, I guess the Moby thing is still "live". I'll have about 27 points soon, at this rate.

Bugger.

I can't believe you'd be looking at a ban for going through a red light.  Up here it's just an automatic 3 points.   You'll have been summoned because of the failure to produce documents.

Just make sure your represented by a lawyer.  SHould only cost you £300-400 for a single appearance.

No way you'll get a ban IMO

Doesn't look good.  Sad

Probably won't help me stating the obvious but why no hands free kit or sat nav?

He must have used them to locate that fry-up.

Hands-free kit (Moby summons) - new 'phone, Chilli's fault.

Sat-Nav (Running the Red Light) - I have a Sat-Nav. I did not have the Postcode of the address, or know the exact address.

All so avoidable, in hindsight.

Sat nav was in the boot. Didn't ask for the actual address or postcode as you were confident you knew where you were going.

Can you see the snow on the pictures, if so you could use those in mitigation.

So after a 18 hour shift in Birmingham, at SKUPT Leg Two, and a late Check-Out from The Marriott, I made the long trek north to Blackpool, after Tom did a job on me, to play a few Side Events.

Tom arrived shortly after me, & we are both in the Marsden B & B.

We went for some Fish & Chips (he also ate 4 slices of buppy & drunk 2 huge mugs of tea, then said "ooh, I fancy some chocolate now") we went across to the G, for him to buy in for the week, & me for tonight's £150 & tomorrow's £300. And I gotta pay Thewy into the ME.

For tonight, man says "you will be alternate, tikay".

Eh? Alternate? It's sold out?

"Yup, you are 46th Alternate".

What? How many?

FFS.....

At the Broadway Casino Yesterday, it was Tikay who did all the work while the other "presenters" sat and played Poker.

It did seem unfair that all the hard graft was being done by the One , while the many had fun

Tom, meanwhile, returned to the Marsden to play the Laddies $1,000 entry, $250,000 added, 688 runner LECOP jobbie.

I watched him fold with style & panache for 20 minutes, & with 10,600 chips at 10/20, he had 530BB's, & we speculated when he would finish playing - Tuesday or Wednesday.

I wandered back to my Room, & he rang me immediately. "I'm out". His Kings into Aces - hit his K, too!

So that's both of us, stuck in a Blackpool in a B & B, hundreds of miles from home, nothing to do, & it's peeing down outside.

Marvellous.

Sorry had missed part of the thread on this. I had a look at the post in August and it mentioned that you were going on a course rather than pay a fine, did that happen in the end?

Don't worry too much about missing the 7 days by a day. The court won't care as long as you have valid documents to show them!

I think they're playing 11 to a table, but Tony got in as 46th reserve. The jammy basket!

Using a mobile without a proper hands-free kit is more dangerous than exceeding the speed limit - imo of course.  You only have one free hand for the wheel, you have to look at the phone to dial or receive a call, and please don't tell me you were sending a text...

Also, what's so important that you had to use the phone whilst driving?
