Good Morning peeps, I know its afternoon but it certainly still feels like the a.m.  We had a relatively early night last night update wise, but heading over to another hotel for some drinks maybe wasn't the brightest of ideas but at least I stuck to the cokes.  Also having Ben (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=45) Grundy (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=45) holding court with us telling us endless poker stories was relatively entertaining.

So I have your requests so far etched on my notepad, Danny (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=969) McHugh (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=969), Stuart (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=421) Rutter (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=421) & any Lady Dealers will be looked out for and Snoops has indeed at least one eye on him, dont worry Kin!

You know the phrase 'chip and a chair'? Well, in the blogging world, it's a 'plughole and a chair', and we've fortunately sealed the deal on both essentials.

Out in the cardroom, meanwhile, tumbleweed is dominating the arena, players opting for a few extra vital snoozes as opposed to an early appearance. We did spot Mickey Wernick trundling down the main road though, fully kitted out in tracksuit and trainers, and eager beaver Paul Gourlay is milling around the cardroom awaiting the starting whistle.

At the moment, it looks like there will be around 140 players, but Lee Jones is hoping for 149, what he describes as 'the magic number', so they can beat last year's prizepool. Whether they reach that number is touch and go at the moment.

Still, beating it by €500e is hardly an accomplishment.

Tell Lee Jones to take inflation into account too, and to stop talking nonsense.

We haven't started yet but are close to kick off, so I did my obligatory pre match snapping and these are the fruits of my labour:

Paul (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=325) Gourlay (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=325) & Ash (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=38) Hussain (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=38)

Ian "I WILL make another final" Cox

The players have now been called over to the tables, so we should be kicking off in just a tick. Meanwhile, I was able to catch up with a jubilant Julian Thew, finally a well known face on the European circuit and accepting congratulatory handshakes from a variety of European hands that may not have given him a second glance previously. Also in the surrounding area was Mickey Wernick, looking calm and collected as usual, Ash 'Trovolta' Hussain, donning the now infamous white jacket, and Ian Cox, surely guaranteed to make the final without moving a muscle.

Plenty of other  Brits playing today, including Jeff Kimber, Paul Gourlay, Ali Mallu, Roland de Wolfe... to name just a few.

What a dreadful choice of venue the R.D.S was.

Looks like a cow shed.

€8000/$11,500 entry tournament. There are far better locations. Embarassing, why did the pick it? :-/

I can't tell why they chose this venue, but personally I like it.  It has character, tall ceilings, colour - what else do you need?  My only gripe would be the size compared to the field, but no moaning of cramped conditions here!

Hows it going guys. Could ye please keep us posted on Danny (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=969) McHugh (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=969) throughout the day if at all possible.

P.S.
express79, do some work.

Whilst we await last year's Irish Open finalist to get busy busy, let's stick his mug up. Danny's on a pretty tough table though:

Luca Pagano
Dan Smith
Thomas Kretschmer
Anders Pettersson
Ben Grundy
Daniel Tarnopol

Also notice the cheeky blondepoker logo - many thanks to the Mayo Mob for their support.  :)up

Please let us know the total number of runners once you know, thanks!

The Venue looks terrific, by the way.

Afternoon matey!  The starting number of players was 133 and I also believe that late entries are still allowed in the first hour, so 133 subject to change  ;)

According to the board there are 133 playing today. Add that to the 89 that turned up and we have a grand total of 222 (I did Maths at school!). However, there are 3 empty seats for anyone who turns up late, so that isn't an official number just yet.

What's the view in Dublin as to why so few runners compared to last year? Last year, this Event attracted 396 runners!

We're still on Level 1, but on the very first round we were treated to an all-in, and what an unusual one it was too, Mariano Peterlongo pushing all-in over the top of Seamus' McGilligan's paltry in comparison 550 bet on what was a seemingly innocent Jack high Flop. A suited and booted McGilligan looked understandably bemused, but he did take a few moments to mull it over, so must have had a decent piece of the board. However, he did inevitably make the fold, and was left to scratch his head in confusion as the Italian in Seat 1 snapped up the pot with his uber, and perhaps paranoid aggression.

Rumour has it that Sir Acidmouse is here and present, but we don't know his full name and have never met him, but we have been able to locate another legendary blondeite in 'Ace2m' Thomas Kretschmer. Although understandably mistaken for the tournament directing giant, Thomas is indeed an accomplished player and has live experience on the big stage with a decent run in the 2006 Monte Carlo EPT Final.

Big ups for badBeat's Chris Smith, John Tabatai and Ian " Can he make 4 on the spin" Cox. The venue looks like it could do with a lick of paint, or is the decor just "unriper"?........what a sad sad effort.

Florian Langmann, who lapped up the runner-up spot in the London EPT, is bumping and grinding already. He's got to tread carefully though today, as he's sharing felt space with Juha Helppi, Ram Vaswani and the ever-consistent Ian Cox. The hand in question perhaps a hint of how Florian made that final table, his check-raise to 3,500 from Helppi's 1,200 bet on a Jh 9s 3d Flop ridding the hand of both the Fin and smooth caller John Flanagan further down the table.

Nobody will be kicking my Scrabble winning ass anytime soon, although rumour has it that Ram Vaswani will have plenty of time to practice this week as he's just bitten Irish EPT dust. News spreads quicker than Summerbay in this pressroom, but according to that 90% reliable grapevine, Ram was all-in on the Turn with a mere gutshot, which ultimately missed.

I guess he truly he is one of those guys who like to gamble early doors in order to accrue a chip-leading stack.

Yes its indeed true.  Think most people missed the action live but I managed to ask Ian Cox who was Ram's table mate how the action went.  Most people on the table didn't seem to know and were all shell shocked at the quickness of events.  The flop in question was:

 3c 5d Jd

Ram called a 2k bet on the flop holding  6s 7c  The turn brought

Ts  where the action was checked to Ram who then pushed the lot in.  Mateyboy called with  Ahrt Ac and Ram's ultra aggresive push was not rewarded by the river.

Final figure for today is actually 132 players by the way!

Brace yourself for a truly bizarre hand, folks, and one which even triggered table observer Roland de Wolfe into saying, "I've never seen a hand like that before."

It all started so innocently, everyone limping around to Ali Mallu in the small blind. Ali bet 225 with Aces, as you might expect, only for everyone to fold. Either expressing his frustration of not reaching the Flop or simply wanting to show the table that he had the goods, Ali revealed his hand, but was then informed by the dealer that Raul Mestre Lleida, seated the other side of the dealer, had called from the button in Seat 9.

A stunned silence ensued, until the dealer broke the eerie quiet by exclaimed "Ruling!". As always, Thomas Kremser strode over like the King of England ready to utilise his experience in the field of tournament directing. "Tell me exactly what happened," he demands. After the dealer had retold the tale, Thomas adds in a monotone, but highly authoritative voice, "Okay, the hand is live and play will continue."

On that note, the dealer dealt out a Jd 5d 9c Flop. "Can I bet?" asks Mallu. After receiving the approving nod from Big TK, Ali bet out 200, but ran into an inevitable re-raise from the Spaniard Lledia who made it 2k to play, a bet of which prised an unreluctant giggle from Roland and a couple of others on the table, the Wolfman even commenting, "I'm putting him (Ali) on Aces."

However, those giggles soon turned into gasps as Ali rose from his chair dominantly and shoved all his chips across the line. Lleida called like lightening, which was probably a signal that he was ahead, and proudly turned over Jh 9d. Funnily enough, Ali didn't need to go to the effort of turning his cards over, the dejected look on his face telling a more extensive story than anything on the felt ever could.

However, we all know how much fun the Poker Gods can have at our expensive, and with a small crowd of poker flies gathering around the table, the dealer dealt out first a harmless 2s, followed by a counterfeiting 5c, a River that I was secretly hoping for if only for the sadistic entertainment value rather than any subjective bias.

Basher Mallu jumped into the heavens and punched the air with delight as his Spanish foe looked on in dismay, his fly catching mouth-gaping expression fully expressing his feelings of dismay. A pumped up Mallu mumbled celebrations to himself as all onlookers glanced back down at the felt in amazement.

So, a double up for the Brit, but what do you think of the hand? And what about the ruling, was that the correct decision?

Brace yourself for a truly bizarre hand, folks, and one which even triggered table observer Roland (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=384) De Wolfe (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=384) into saying, "I've never seen a hand like that before."

We've all previously thought 'this game would be so easy if I knew the other guy's cards'. That Ali Mallu hand proves otherwise.

Who'd have though live poker would have a superuser account? Did Lleida qualify through a satellite on Absolute?

wow, sick hand with mallu.

i guess kremser knows the rules better than any of us, but i always thought u could call but not bet/raise if you had exposed your cards. very strange one though

just spoke to stu rutter.. on 8k after flopping second nut flush against levi's nut flush

Yes, Stuart Rutter is indeed on 8k after clashing with Levi. Luckily, he got away cheap, just flat call-in a bet on every street with K-T vs. A-9 after both flopped the goods on a Q-J-4 board.

Here it is.....

Nobody will be kicking my Scrabble winning ass anytime soon, although rumour has it that Ram (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=359) Vaswani (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=359) will have plenty of time to practice this week as he's just bitten Irish EPT dust.

Think most people missed the action live but I managed to ask Ian (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=171) Cox (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=171) who was Ram's table mate how the action went.  Most people on the table didn't seem to know and were all shell shocked at the quickness of events.  The flop in question was:

Ram called a 2k bet on the flop holding     The turn brought

where the action was checked to Ram who then pushed the lot in.  Mateyboy called with    and Ram's ultra aggresive push was not rewarded by the river.

Hands up those who thought Mallu would be hanging onto those chips like a rock climber without a harness? Well, every time I walk by, he's involved in a pot, although to be fair, his last encounter was with those action-packed American Airlines again. On a 3h 2c 8c 8d board, Mallu bet out 1.2k, which was called by the UK's Mark Bointon (pictured below) before check-calling 2k on the 6c River. As Mallu flipped over the Bullets, Bointon showed his inferior Pocket Nines and watched helplessly as the dealer sent yet more chips over to Mr Mallu.

John Tabatabai has just lost a chunk of his chips to Ryan Braver of South Africa (wow!).  On a board of

 3s 2s 9s 6h

Ryan bets 2K and is reraised by Tabatabai for another 5K.  Ryan holding just less than 5K himself makes the call and turns over  Qc Qs.  Tabatabai reveals  9h 6c for two pair and a few mutterings from Ryan meant he was behind but certainly not dead.  The perfect  2h on the river counterfeited Tabatabai's two pair and he is now left with about 4,600.

At the moment, Karl is also the one with the tidy stack, now up to 18k whilst Praz struggles with 11k. "They keep calling," comments the bracelet winner. "One day I'll get a hand."

Not much finger-chip-over-the-line movement from the heavily supported Danny McHugh, currently plodding along on 14,375, but table mates Julian Thew and Richard Ashby are busy bees, the former betting 1.2k into a 2c 3h 9d 5h board before folding for an extra 2k. The reigning Baden champ down to 9,650.

Either expressing his frustration of not reaching the Flop or simply wanting to show the table that he had the goods, Ali revealed his hand, but was then informed by the dealer that Raul Mestre Lleida, seated the other side of the dealer, had called from the button in Seat 9.

LOLZ!! "I HAVE TEH AA; ALL INNNN!!"  ;gobsmacked;

The thing that I find most amusing about this hand is the fact that Ali exposed his hand did not affect either the betting or the outcome one jot. It would have all happened just the same had he not exposed the hand.

Top quality reportage Sloppy  ;applause;

John Tabatabai was casually strolling over to his table at the end of the break, but he should have been running like Linford Christie, the WSOPE runner-upper's stack having dwindled to a rather vulnerable 2.5k.

It worked out relatively well for him though, his first hand back seeing his cut-off raise of 450 with Fours being called by the quite spectaculalry named Gijsbertus Spijkers's Pocket Ducks. The King high board was checked all the way down, allowing Kunkuwap's mighty pair to snap up the pot virtually uncontested.

"Hey, I've doubled up," bragged the Bad Beat trader.

Meanwhile, next door neighbour, Jeff Kimber, is similalry suffering with a meager 4,350 after "having an accident".

Cheeky Geordie and moonlighting Rocket Man Paul Gourlay is up to pace-setting 29,000. According to the horse's mouth, he ground his way up to 19,000 before finding those Pocket Cowboys (yeeeeeeeeehaaaaaaa, ride em cowboy  ;snoopy'sguns;) and re-raising Kevin O'Connell's Flop raise from late position. Both Kevin and 'stuck-in-the middle' Mark Roland called, subsequently seeing a T-6-4 Flop with two hearts.

Kevin bet out 2.5k, Mark called, and Paul made it 7.5k. Both players moved out the way, leaving Paul to take a nice pot uncontested.

Watch out, folks, the Rocket Man's picking up steam and ready for launch.

This is him on the left next to the latest model:

Just saw an interesting hand develop between Ben Grundy & Luca Pagana.  It started with Grundy raising to 575 under the gun and Luca reraising to 1,425 in total.  Ben called, the flop was

Aspades 2s 9h  Check from Ben, Luca bet 1,125.  Ben reraised another 1,875, 3k total.

All these actions from both players were delibarate, thought out and slow, no bang, bang with these two.  At this point Luca reraises again, calling the extra 1,875 and making it another 5K to Ben!

Ben says  "Urrghhhh"  right from the belly and "so sick!"

Then pushes all in, after throwing in the 5K its only another 3,750 to Luca Pagano whose total stack at this point is about 6k so if he gets it wrong, it doesn't leave him with much.  He deliberates, looks uncomfotable - and PASSES to the shock of the large spectators.  Even to the shock of Ben Grundy who actually pyschically jumped in his seat and excitedly turned over the  Ks only!  Hmmm,  Ben was left raking in a great size pot (about 23K) and Luca was left with his head down sighing.

He is on the list, shown as 13,425, presumably before the 2xup.

Ash Hussain is on 30k (I counted 28 or 29k, but he said 30k sounded better). It took two hand really, the first seeing him bet out 525 with the mighy 3h 2h on a Kh Th Td Flop and calling a re-raise to 1,600. Both players checked the Qc Flop, and then Ash pumped out 2.5k on the Kc River to force his opponent to fold. And oh yes, that 3 high was shown. Soon after, a three was busy again, this time actually giving Ash a hand when he flopped a set of threes, action on every street providing him with the stack he currently enjoys.

It's been a while since we've enjoyed a good old fashioned Mateyboy encounter, and I'm going to have to keep you waiting for a while longer, but I did spot half of one, Victor Escudero Mellado (left) calling Mateyboy's (right) 3.5k bet on the River of a 9s 5d 8d Aspades Ts board. Mateyboy showed 5s 4s to take the pot, whilst the Spaniard's expression of heightened disgruntlement was surely a sign of a nasty beat.

Not great news for the 2 Hitsquaders here, Praz lost a hefty pot holding JT suited on a J 9 8 board but the  7c and the club river gave four clubs on board and the flush with Aces for mateyboy.  Praz currently on 4,400.

Karl (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=227) Mahrenholz (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=227) was fairing a little better but just got involved in a pot with Alan (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1197) Vinson (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1197) and another mateboy no less.  I arrived after the river  ::) on this board

 8c 5d 9s Qs Kd

Alan (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1197) Vinson (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1197) bet out 2,500 and Karl reraised to 7,000.  Mateyboy just made the call and Alan passed, leaving Karl a little annoyed at being shown Q9 for two pair, although Karl was indicating that whatever mateyboy had must have been good!  Busted flush perhaps? Karl now on 7,000.

Alan Vinson now on 16,000

Julian Thew doubled up off Antony Lellouch with Queens versus A-K.

Paul Gourlay dropped to 21k after paying off Thor Hansen's Aces on a Ten high board.

Praz Bansi is now OUT, and wondering if he will ever get that vital luck or just the avoidance of bad luck would be sufficient.  After beeing knocked down low he picked up pockets tens and must have been happy to be up agasint 66.  That was until his oppo made a straight with his 6 and Praz could have done with not hitting trip tens on this occassion!

The legend that is Sir Mickey (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=283) Wernick (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=283) of Wernickville is now frequenting the rail. He clashed in a battle of the generations encounter with Tronde Eidsvig, the young whizkid check-raising Mickey's 2.5k bet on a Kc 2s 8c Flop to 7.5k. Mickey called the extra 5k before calling again when Tronde pushed all-in for his remaining chips on the 4d Turn.

"I need a King," requested Mickey politely as he was shown 8d 8h.

But with Mickey's Kh 2h is bad shape, drawing to just the one out apparently, no miracle was granted leaving him to exit stage left with a forced smile.

"It was either a set or nothing," concluded The Worm.

Ali Mallu puts Steven Van Zadelhoff to the test with a deep reach on an Ahrt 5d 9s 2h board. The Dutchman has 10k left with 5k in the pot, but makes the fold nonethless. Ali, meanwhile, is now threatening the 50k mark.

Thomas Kretschmer is nearly all but out, his seemingly formidable stack being demolished by Irishman Phillip Hardy in what was a 40k plus pot. I didn't catch how the hand panned out, but the board read 7s 3d Td Qc Th and it was 7k more to Thomas, who eventually called only to be shown Qd Qs.

It is safe to say that today's pace is slightly faster than yesterday's.  On table Mallu, I arrived to see a board, 2 players standing up and a mountain of chips over the line for both players.  Alli's opponoent was France's Ludovic Lacay.  The board read:

 6h   4h  7s     7d   Qs

Alli Mallu   6s 2d
Ludovic   5h 8h

There was chaos as both players tried to work out who covered who, and it looked like both the chip leaders tangled in this pot.  Ludvic had 46,750 and Alli had 45,000 so Ludovic took the whole lot for a pot worth well over 90,000!!

I knabbed Ali on his way out and he said that the money went in when the 7 paired on the turn, little did Ali know the monster that Ludvic was holding!  Wow, take a bow Mr Lacay, you are chip leader by a grand mile and you were definately not "Mallued."

Just talked 2 Danny there at the break, he's at 10k, very much card dead, got aces at one point but got no action..

He dropped a few k not long before the break when the button raised into his BB, SB called, so too did Danny wit KQ suited. Flop comes K high, he bets 2k, Button made it 8k and Danny let it go.

Spirits are high though, he reckons he has to be due some good hands soon.

Fingers crossed!

The players are now on a 60 minute dinner break and we are about to join them for what is, I hate to admit, a below par buffet, but a free one nonetheless. I shall not be dining with Jeff Kimber, as he is still refusing to make his move on our game of Scrabble, even after my valiant effort in yesterday's effort. I don't know if you share my thoughts, but I feel that I have been treated rather harshly.

By the way, don't you hate it when the taps in the toilet only activate for a second or two when you press them meaning you have to do each hand individually. Rubbing the soap off your hand with the fingers on that hand is a skill that can't be taught, and one that the Scandieboy currently in the gentleman's simply doesn't possess.

Back soon!

i had 33, feel sick as a dog. Mr Hardy is definatelly someone who will stack off with an overpair so imagine my joy at the flop, only to get re re raised on the river, i almost folded but couldn't quite do it. still got 5k.

Mischievous Liverpudlian Joey Lovelady is milling around the rail, his tournament coming to a demise either just after, or just before the break.

"I was ahead, you can report that," he says surprised. "I had K-Q on an Ace high Flop. Chips went in on the Turn when it came a King, but he had a pair and a flush draw with T-7 and hit a heart."

The lad's still smiling though.

Danny McHugh is still plugging away with 7,200, as is Julain Thew with 17,250. Also sharing table space is Richard Ashby with 14,475 and Jeff Kimber on 6,350.

Patrick Bruel, who I learned was the all singing, all-dancing, all television hosting poker player who saw off the aforementioned Lovelady, is back in the thick of it one more, this time betting every street (900, 2,000, 6,000) of a 9d 6s 3d 7s 6h board before finally encouraging the UK's Thomas Bentham too fold, and then folding to an all-in from Liam Flood on a Q-Q-6 Flop.

Speaking of Mr Flood, another veteran from the Late Night Poker era is the ever-present Surinder Sunar, quiet and calculated as usual as he bets Holland's Michiel Brummelhuis off an 8h 7c Kd Qd board with a 5.2k bet. The Cobra now hovering around the 30-35k mark.

The players are now on a 60 minute dinner break and we are about to join them for what is, I hate to admit, a below par buffet, but a free one nonetheless. I shall not be dining with Jeff (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=195) Kimber (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=195), as he is still refusing to make his move on our game of Scrabble, even after my valiant effort in yesterday's effort.

Back soon!

It would seem that your hands are definitely unriper than aforementioned scandieboy...

As I waltz back into the cardroom, I am quickly reminded of what a great venue this is... especially if they had a vaster field. Okay, the food is poor and the arena does compare to a rickety old train station, but in terms of sheer space with the open plan seating, sea of endless tables and generous gaps between tables, it's a great place to play poker. For us a bloggers in particular, it's perfect, as you could tie ten cats together, swing them around and still not touch anybody. Well, you might be within a whisker (ahem).

This part of Dublin is truly bizarre for an indoor person like me. I had no idea I would be seeing the coast, so for someone who divides their time between Northwest London and Birmingham, it was a pleasant surprise to see the sea. If I'd have known, I would have brought my Speedos and gone for a quick dip in the ocean. For some reason I thought we'd be in a busier area, but there's barely a murmur around here at night time and as Liam Flood confirmed, you could walk around on your own late at night and not have to worry.

On the first night, Chili and I ventured into the city centre on what was a "We must see Dublin" night out. We didn't really see the sights, but got a good feel of what Dublin is all about. We unearthed a top notch steakhouse, and when they sadly announced there was no pudding, managed to stumble across a cute little place called Captain America's where we munched on a banoffee pie and Knickerbocker Glory (I had the latter). So, if you're wondering what superheroes do when they retire, then now you know, they go to Dublin and open up a bar.

It's just a shame numbers aren't more here this week. The half empty venue has perhaps lost its buzz as a result and would surely be hustle and bustle with an increased field.

A lonesome Alan Vinson has been spotted oping near the entrance. I tried desperately to prise out the hand from him without being insulting, but not even my usually successful method of asking, "Was it a nasty one?" was enough to uncover the truth. What I did receive was a dejected "No, I just played badly" response, and after my pause failed to lead to any further information, I continued over to the tables a defeated man.

My Scrabble nemesis Jeff Kimber has doubled up courtesy of recent EPT winner Julian Thew. It was a simple affair in the end, Jeff's push on a 3s Jc 9d Flop being called by Yoyo. American Ziad Kaady in the next seat seemed tortured by the decision, but he eventually through his cards away reluctantly. Meanwhile, it was on their backs times for Jeff, the World Heads Up Champ not 100% confident that his Ac Jh was ahead, but he had no reason to worry as Julian showed Ks Js. Actually, what am I saying, it's Julian, of course he needs to be worried! However, even though Thewy was favourite (cough) to win the hand, Jeff's kicker was somehow good enough come the 8c and JD Turn and River. Yoyo down to 10k. Kaady meanwhile rues folding what would have been a winning straight.

Julian Thew is now biting down on the bitter taste of dust, his check-raise all-in with A-K on a 9-8-J Flop being called by T-8. A Five Turn and Three River was no good and the Yoyo string has finally snapped.

There haven't been many Ian (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=171) Cox (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=171) updates today, mainly because we already know he'll make the final table, but he was recently spotted betting his London EPT fellow finalist, Florian Langmann, off a pot with a 3.6k bet on a Qd Td Ac Tc board.

"Hey, snoopy," beckons Coxy. "My wife wants a word with you, she read my bio where you mentioned shopping and credit cards. You're in trouble now."

Gulp, I shall be looking over my shoulder from now on, although that may prove difficult considering I don't know what Mrs Cox looks like.

18.5k for the Crapper.

Show us your legs Snoopy and I'll forgive you

Hugs,

While I still don't have the photo from Annette's brother, you can ask her and she will tell you that I was the 2nd person (after her obv) to wear the bracelet.  Also, tell her I said good luck and to send me that pic of us w/ the bracelet so I can brag to you.

I passed on your good luck wishes to Annette, she said Thanks AND confirmed your story of first person to wear her bracelet... pah!  She relays good news too, she doubled up courtesty of a guy limping on the button with Aces and Annette holding 67 suited.  She duelly flopped two pair and is sitting prettier with 19,600.

Any updates on Annette (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=902) Obrestad (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=902)?
Chili's worn her bracelet don't you know!

So have I :)

Annette (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=902) Obrestad (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=902) has 9,400.

I'm afraid I need photographic evidence that you have worn Annette's bracelet.  I'll show you mine if you show me yours!!

Here is the lady in question in case we are in doubt

Oh ok, I cant resist it here is Annette & Praz's bracelet taken last week in Cardiff, I'm feeling rather humbled by the occasion LOL.

I hope she confirmed my story.  It's probably as close as I'll ever get to a bracelet (at least until she wins another one:)).

Jeff Kimber is OUT. After climbing from 2,500 back up to 16,500, he then ran Queens into Aces for a sad swan song. However, he seems to be ruing a bluff gone wrong from earlier: "I bluffed off most of my stack against a numpty. He had three queens, but should have folded. Even Kukuwap next to me said I must have a full house, but I just mucked and was down to 5k."

"My table was so soft too," he added.

According to Jeff Kimber, the hot topic of the day was a bet between Chris Smith, Dan Smith and John Tabatabai about the existence of the word debaucherous (don't ask). The Smiths are claiming it doesn't exist, but Kunkuwap is remaining adamant. Using my Internet surfing skills though, I can confirm that it isn't complete gobbledygook and has somehow found a place on dictionary.com

debaucherous
Definition: tending to indulge in sensuous pleasures

Thomas Kremser has just announced the last 7 hands, oddly, which means we'll be done and dusted in around 10 minutes. Meanwhile, I couldn't help but notice that Liam Flood has sky rocketed up to 74,500 after spending most of the day short in chips. Still life in the old dog yet!

Right, we reached 15 mins short of the last level of the night (7) and they stopped the clock and every table now plays 7 hands to stop any slowing up nonsense.  After this we shall have a full list of chip counts and players for the end of day, hopefully not too long afterwards.

Of course I am.  Annette is the one who taught me how to play poker and she's also one of my best friends in the world.  As much as I'd love to be traveling the circuit with her right now, it's great to follow her progress and watch her turn into one of the best in the world. Some last minute notes:

Tronde Eidsvig has finished the day strong with 68k.

Josh Gould didn't quite match his impressive start, ending Day 1B with 32,000

Paul (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=325) Gourlay (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=325) will be disappointed to finish on 17,000 after a solid start

Joe (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=205) Grech (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=205) bit dust at some point today

Annette (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=902) Obrestad (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=902) seems to have the most 25 greens out of anyone, perhaps a sign that she's been nicking those antes

Lars-Ola Svensson survived an all-in right at the end, pushing his opponent off a 2h-7d-5h-8s board

Well done guys...gl 2moro....

Nice 1 mr Cox, gotta be final material!! For some one called crapper, it seems most players are crapper than him at the mo... Hey snoops, you think that makes him uncrapper??

Absolute uncanny lookalikee here, I nearly pinched this chap round the waist thinking it was Richard Trigg aka actionman, but I stopped and realised that this is an EPT and a highly unlikely place for the twig to be at!!!

In the meantime on poker business, TCR23, the MOM of Michael (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=937) Martin (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=937) can be very happy indeed because Michael is being a good little boy and has over 50,000 chips "at last" says Michael.

oi you, ill be playing some soon don't you worry. The lookalike is amazing though, i hope he carries a bit more condition than me, but the strange thing is i have the exact same jeans. I feel sorry for the poor sod, everyone calling his bets down and making value raises on the river with 3rd pair.
