1  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: Grosvenor Goliath Coventry - multiple tickets? on: July 31, 2022, 05:20:28 PM
I was listening to the GUKPT live feed the other week and this was discussed. Any ticket won on Grosvenor can be used in any Grosvenor game. You can uses them as part of buy ins for bigger games. You can also use them during the festival for the other games and if they are a lesser value you keep the difference in credit. Also they don't expire so you can keep them for next year.

Brilliant thanks Kev

Hi - does anyone know Grosvenor policy on winning multiple live tickets for the Goliath ?   It’s a rebuy so I’ll probs end up using them all but don’t want to get stuck with a load of unusable tickets … they all have long expiry dates (2040!) but state can only be used for the Goliath.   Tried to speak to the online casino customer services but took forever and not convinced they knew the answer

almost the 10 year anniversary of blatch gate, wonder what hes up to. anyone still in contact?

My most profitable staking investment ever Cheesy

Think dubai summed it up best at the time when he said Blatch was the only person to ever make a substantial loss paper trading!

I’ve played very little since 2013 due to work and early mornings  but have returned once or twice to poker when I needed some funding ... been playing again since lockdown and having a great time of it.    Read this thread today and then spotted a DiscoDaveShallow chip lead in a 8k Gtd $10 rebuy on ipoker today - surely not is it ?   What’s Dave up to these days?

Nice one Doobs btw 👍🏻

Cheers Jim.  I had a big go at the million on Sunday too (23rd out of 16k doesn't pay as much as you'd expect).

I have a feeling I saw Dave Shallow under his real name in a Party comp the other day, but my memory is bad and was likely multi-tabling (given I am unsure now, if he was at my table it can't have been for long).  I have seen quite a few old school names there when the real names have come on, though don't play there much.  I just checked his old crabmaki account and it has only got the odd tiny comp on it.  I would be interested in knowing what he is up to too, and if anybody has seen him on Party; he always said he didn't enjoy poker even when it was booming and he was crushing.

I know Dave Penly was mentioned a few weeks ago, and I bumped into him again in a comp a couple of days ago.  He is definitely playing quite a bit and I noticed he had a $40k score on Party a few months ago.  Also I noticed Bengt Sonnert got another big cash a few weeks ago.  Guess giving up completely is hard?  Has anyone seen Ben Grundy about?

Can confirm Dubai still hates poker. He's now a doting father to 2 kids & does of bit of hustling still in the sports betting markets. Hope you are well Doobs/Jim!

haha  - alright Ben!   What you up to these days?

Cheers Doobs - confirmed my thinking -  small stack shove had KT and big stack managed to snap call with AQ (I hate the call) ... couldn’t fade a Q and that was that.    Just felt a little spewy to be left holding 89th place certificate  after running so smoothly for so long and being relatively deep.   Prob would not have given it a 2nd thought in a 20 rebuy ....Dems the breaks I guess

Went out my other FT with KK vs AT .... so I’ve had a word with myself and fully intend to run better from now on Smiley

I don't really hate the call with AQ.   I think bounties make calls that may appear marginal in to correct ones.   I think you likely fold out other racing hands like KQ/AT by shoving.    You could let us know the bounty size and bubble size, but am assuming they are fairly standard.

Folding to a 10BB shove seems pretty nitty even if near the bubble.

Maybe PM Dave Shoelace?

$200 bounty hunters seem unlikely to be soft enough, or is GG different?

Bounty wise think I had about $180 on my head and short stack had about a ton.     Ave was prob $130-150  at that point I guess.  Didn’t even consider the bubble / increments - min cash for position was about $220 ... I pay zero attention to the increments until we’re in the last 10-20

There were a few bracelet winners in that one last night , but they only human and I was freerolling with a comp ticket anyway 😂👍🏻  Guessing it got a bit more traffic with the WSOP crowd on the platform.     It’s strange there are certain regular comps where I always seems to cash and others (seemingly softer) where I can’t buy a cash in 40 attempts (the 8k £50 rebuy on ipoker is killing me I must have bubbled 5 time’s in it since lockdown started)

Think the bounty games suit my style a little better maybe.   Need to check my stats but I must be ITM 50% + on that one so make of it what you will.   Had 3 or 4 stabs where lost a flip for chip lead 30-90 out so it’s on my list as one to win as soon as the roll permits a regular campaign in it.   I do tend to target certain comps and really focus on winning the thing ...  weird I know

Will have a look at the literature

Think this plays its self but for some reason its niggling me - just wanted 2nd opinion on if it could/should have played out differently ....

670 runner $200 bounty game.    98 paid.... 90 remaining we're sat in about 20th and have been comfortable in the top 20 for most of the middle stages of the tournament.   Bounty on my head is prob slightly above the average but not huge.     Bounty on the jammer was about average.

Also was (am) in day 2 of the opener ....  it’s far from ideal but have to echo the comments about the comms and support which has been clear and decent.    It’s clear there’s a lot of embarrassment - they’ve even gone to the lengths of tweeting a link to the incident report and rca which is interesting and something I’ve not seen before.     Will have to put off paying off the mortgage and collecting the new bracelet until next week :/

Finally managed to get it sorted ... had an email from then asking to phone a direct number for the safer gambling chap ...had a few stabs at getting through on it but finally got to talk to a very nice chap who expressed his concerns about my sticking 2.5 in the account last weekend.

‘You are running 500 and 1k comps’

Answered a few questions about problem gambling an politely refused an offer of a deposit limit and account was unlocked.   I pointed out the potential damage and cost of allowing people to buy into high value multi day comps just then just randomly locking accounts which he said he understood.  If anyone else has the same issue and would like the direct line number just PM me.

I’m all for this safety net but surely needs some thought an consideration.....possible better ways to handle it ....

1- don’t let people deposit that much without having validation /chat first
2- freeze the £ but don’t freeze access to the account
3- speak to people before freezing the accounts
4- have a slicker response process or an online process - a week to have a 5min conv is too long.
5- be aware when you are running high value festivals and check what people are registered for before blocking

I have no dog in this fight so it really shouldn't bother me but honest to God, this sort of thing makes my blood boil.

People on helplines who don't understand the issues and don't give a fuck anyway.

Vote with your feet guys.

Chance would be a fine thing Red ... can’t get access to the account to get the £ out even :/

This is beyond a joke now.   Account still locked with no access to the funds I deposited and missed most of the GUKPT event.   Spoken to their customer services and their ‘customer team’ has said they’ll call me the same day to resolve but the call never comes.    I’m starting to get very annoyed ....  joined GG yesterday and went through the full verification process in < 3 hrs.

Grosvener are totally oblivious to the consequences of just locking accounts like this - I could quite easily been coming back for day 2 of the 500 last Sunday and would not have been able to play .... I could have pre reg/ won sats  for games and not been able to access the account to play or cancel the reg.    Customer services also just refused to escalate to a formal complaint (as it wouldn’t do any good because they’ll def call me today .... like they said they would on wed)  😡😡😡

Anyone know the name of the online poker manager ?

Ahh it’s just like the good old days Smiley  ... yeah payouts are so flat these days you need those top 3 spots.      I’m playing 3 or 4 a night on ipoker  for the past two months... my sharkscope rating is highest it’s ever been  .... got a 2nd in the weekly 40k last week for 5.6k and scoring well in the nightly 12k / 8k gts on pretty much a daily basis.   Have to say I’m really enjoying it.    Just having a look at GG poker evening comps as well now.    I just need to keep it simple - I always played too much when I was playing well previously and suffered as a result ... older and wiser now 😁

Set up a Grosvenor account to play the GUKPT events this week and had my account suspended for depositing enough to cover the buy ins 🤪🤪 customer support made a note for their care team to call me but no timetable for when that may be and  that doesn’t get me into tonight games (can’t remember if I pre reg or not for today and can’t access account to check!)    Good job I didn’t make day 2 of yesterday’s 500!

Rather frustrating
