As a continuation of yesterdays conversation.  I have just seen this:

Basically sums up what I was trying to say.

He's far too cool.

The problem with that final point is what do you do about all the racist people who are still talking about it amongst each other? Imagine if the only voice that could be heard on immigration in the UK was UKIP? *shudders*

Yep, just can't see how sensible people taking about racism will stop people becoming racists.  People were racists long before we had a word for it.

Talking of UKIP, how the hell did Neil Hamilton get a job in politics again?   I head him rattling on about how people were getting swamped by immigrants the other day.  You'd think he wouldn't be able to say anything that would make me think any worse about him, but there it was.

For the youth, Neil Hamilton was once my MP and was a bit naughty when in office before.

There's a bit missing off the Morgan quote, it's from a 2005 60 minutes interview.

FREEMAN: Stop talking about it. I'm going to stop calling you a white man. And I'm going to ask you to stop calling me a black man. I know you as Mike Wallace. You know me as Morgan Freeman. You're not going to say, "I know this white guy named Mike Wallace." Hear what I'm saying?

Didn't a similar thing happen with Middy?

Yeah, same deal.

PAYOUTS 1.25 AND .750, deal amount was 1.05.

His mates pay him the 1.05 rather than official chop. Or more likely his % of 1.05 depending how much of his own action he head.

Everyone still in the green.

You won't be paying Zigic £65k a week anymore after next week so that's got to be a bonus.  He must be the most overpaid footballer in the world in the last 3 years.

Shaun Wright Phillips might argue with that statement.

In fact there's quite a few in the QPR who could stake a claim, Luke Young, Julio Cesar, Bobby Zamora, Samba Diakite, Esteban Granero etc etc

Yes agreed with most of those although Zig has been on £65k a week playing for a team in the bottom half of the championship for the last 3 years which is quite some feat.  He must nearly be on more than most of the rest of the squad put together.  Therefore must have been games at bham where his weekly salary is bigger than the other 10 players combined on the pitch.

At least Zigic has been playing and scoring (albeit infrequently)

Luke Young has only been in one matchday 16 during the last 2 seasons without ever being injured.

He's on 50k per week. Job's a good un

@TSBible: QPR have spent more on wages than Champions League finalists and La Liga leaders Atlético Madrid this season.

Starbucks vending machines
Saw one for the first time today. Obviously had to try one. More expensive than Costa express but tasted pretty much identical to the shop stuff. Far better options as well. Didn't realise that they'd been around for a couple of years. First one I've seen and I drink a lot of service station coffee!

Can they compete with Costa in this market? Think it will be difficult to catch up.

Wow, never seen one.

Where was that, Paul?

Costa got first run at Vending Machine coffee, & have all the premium sites (Motorway Service Stations etc), & only the Red Bean stuff (ugh, dreadful stuff), at the M & S and Shell Garages has a foothold in the market, so no, I doubt Starbucks can catch up in that market. Costa is owned by Whitbread, so has plenty of clout, too.

How are things, Baby & Penny (Pennie?) OK?

Playing much poker? You, I mean, not the baby.

Coffee Nation were the originals in the market. Used to be first job after setting off to work, whatever direction we were heading, Coffee Nation stop.

They were bought by Whitbread for £60 million in 2008, seemed like the machines disappeared overnight, obviously replaced by Costa.
Their founder wrote a book imaginatively titled erm,.,,, Wake up and sell the coffee. He actually sold the business for £23 million the same year Whitbread paid 60 for it !
