re shepherds pie - I've never found a ready meal that has ground meat in it to be at all edible. I can buy standard mince and cook it well enough, but ready meal manufacturers seem to find it impossible and the result is almost always gritty, gristly yuk.

After I broke my right wrist three years ago I could only eat ready meals for a couple of months and I agree with you about the ground meat - it's dire.

I'm lucky to have a local butcher half a mile away who I've known for twenty years or more and I get really nice minced beef or lamb which I used for the batch of mince in the shepherd's pie. He's a golfer too so we put up with each other's golfing bad beat stories during our transactions.

Your food is delicious Ralph so I can't argue.

You would make someone a lovely wife.

Well, probably a bit on a minger in the bikini department but a great cook.

I had Michelin star cheese on toast for dinner yesterday and having Michelin star shepherd's pie this evening.

I don't own a microwave or an air-fryer, struggle with ready-meals as I'm a bit fussy about my food, so just make do the old fashioned way the best I can.

Am I insane by thinking every underdog on the main card of the UFC event on Saturday is value? some of these prices on the hype merchants who are favourites seem kind of crazy to me!

I've been waiting for a big spot to have a chunky bet against Paddy for years, but he's been slowly winning me over. I think those odds are still wrong, but some others (Allen v Silva) seem even more wrong...

re food, I am a bit of a ready meal man, mostly due to laziness. Not for the cooking, but for the cleaning up after. eg I used to like a stir fry but the thin film of grease it creates over the ceramic hob is duch a chore to clean off. Similarly cooking a steak at a very high temperature.

the World does not need to exist if it hasn't got him in it.

That's a great line. I will be unashamedly stealing it.

I do not believe any 1 country, or trading entity, has the power to decide what is best for the entire World.

From a UK/European perspective, the biggest threats appear to be coming from Washington DC and Florida. Perhaps Denmark might suggest a trade of the 2 areas Smiley It might be nice to briefly imagine a world without the dementia-crazed toddler. But the World is not like that.

Trump is (appropriately) full of hot air. But he is exactly the sort of crazed loon who might believe that the World does not need to exist if it hasn't got him in it.

Seriously-what was America thinking when it voted in a man who will be 80 this year? I'm 63. I couldn't run a bath...

This just in from my North America correspondent.

US President Trump has sent a letter to Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, saying: "The World is not secure unless we have Complete and Total Control of Greenland."

Trump also says he no longer feels "an obligation to think purely of Peace" after Norway "decided not to give" him the Nobel Peace Prize.

Damn, I woke up this morning and couldn't stop thinking about how much I needed an anti yellow clear case to keep my phone looking visually appealing. Imagine my sheer delight when there was a post on here seemingly offering exactly what I was after, what are the odds? Sadly, Tikay has banned the poster so my phone will have to stay encased in its dull black covering, I don't know how I will cope with the disappointment. Thanks Tikay.
