I thought Clarky had done a great job but that was just because I knew of the ridic long run they had without losing, didn't realise he had such advantages as mentioned. Still <3 Lee Clark, possibly got a thicker more inaudible Geordie accent than me, ledge.

I thing he done a good job there, but the few times I have seen him on TV he seems to lose the plot alot. Tranmere away draw last week he nearly had a breakdown in the interview after, the game vs Stevenage i think it was where he went abs mental at end in a fit of rage. If you cant handle it at Hudds you got Zero chance of it at Leeds.

Got to agree with Chip.

Huddersfiled squad over the last 2 seasons has been so good, they should have been promoted last or been in pole position for automatic this.

Drawn far too many games they should have won.

Funnily enough I've only seen one interview of his and it was when that Rhodes scored 5 and even then he came across as a bit nuts and really aggro, that's nowt to do with not being able to handle the pressure though, just he's from Wallsend. I know very little about lower league football whereas you obv do, interesting to hear.

Think the press have a lot to do with it Bobby, it's where I got the impression from that he was doing really well, guess some people in the press office like him.

I think you are right mate, it is deffo a factor. Take the opposite like Steve Mclaren, awful press in this country but apart from Forest he has improved every club he has been at in England by a very long way. He did the almost impossible in Holland and in Germany lost his 30 goal striker and got very little time.

Was good enough to be England manager yet reviled and managers like Clark who haven't achieved a fraction of what he did are talked up all the time.

I'd rather have Lee Clark up here than Mclaren ainec, terrible job as England manager, didn't do great at the Boro either. Respect where it's due though, not many manager's would've agreed to leave without a payoff like he did from Forest. I will never forgive him for fukn up that England game, had booked flights to go, was abs devd.

Yes as England manager he was awful, but can't agree with you about his time a Boro. A cup winner and Uefa cup final with a club that size is a tremendous achievement and winning the Dutch league with a club like Twente is also amazing.

Never quite got the dislike of McClaren tbh, he's certainly a better coach than manager imo and thats why he did well in Germany and Holland as most teams in those leagues are set up with a GM overseeing transfers, contracts etc and the coach was in charge of team affairs.  In my mind he is a bit like Brian Kidd who is by far a better number 2 than he is manager.

McClaren might not be a bad shout for Leeds if he was daft enough to work for Bates.  If Leeds do go for Warnock though for me it would have to be with the intention of getting rid of him if promotion was achieved, he just isn't up to managing in the EPL.

I really can't think of anyoutstanding candidates who would take over that would be accepted by the fans and more importantly do what Bates tells them.

I virtually never bet on next manager markets, but Warnock is rapidly becoming an attractive price.

I bet bates won't want to spend a penny so will stick with redfearn if we get a few good results. He will have him on the cheap.

Think Mclaten is an excellent coach, bad manager.

If he'd achieved what he did at the Boro at Newcastle he'd be an abs legend no matter what. As it is though, I'm pretty sure most Smoggies don't like him and wanted him out before he left, there was even talk that he was close to the sack and Boro snapped the FA's hand off at compen. Gatso might call bullshit on that though, or Redarmi ?
