Oh Adam, whitesnake? you let yourself down there mate.
Though i was into deep purple and rainbow for a while so whitesnake would be crap to me.

Loved Iron Maiden, actually had every album/single they ever made until about '88 then just went off 'em, IMHO their very best stuff was with Paul D'ianno (sp?), killers and iron maiden lp's.
Just as a little known fact if you have these (vinyl) albums and they don't have "fame" in the top right hand corner they're worth a fortune!! as is my run to the hills picture disc Wink

Overall musically i have just about everything and anything, was into punk from the stranglers (before they went pop) to chaos uk and the dead kennedys, doa, stiff little fingers, then skinhead stuff like cock sparrer and sham69 and early skrewdriver.
The jam (weller is a true god), any ska from the original stuff to bad manners.
Dylan, charlie daniels band (i know) madonna (saw her at wembley) smiths, the cure, mondays, inspiral carpets (best intro ever was their track "saturn 5")..........i could go on and on.
Ian

BTW loved blur, much better than oasis

pretty much the same as ifm apart from the Madonna
must be a similar age

All Im saying is, in the early days whitesnake we're a brilliant British Blues band. not talking about when they became an American Hair band.

As for SRV, you'll get no argument from me. It's clearly laid out in my will that Lenny be played and I go through the curtains.

For the guitarists amongst us, Adrian Legg. Traceys Big Moment. actually cried listening to that a couple of times. (and I'm 'ard)

I too grew up in the grunge era and was crazy about Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Smashing Pumkins, Seen them all several times including at once Pearl Jam in Bradford i was sat on a balcony left of the stage when the bass player got up on his amp (very high) and starting jigging away.  In a moment of utter madness (have them sometimes) i jumped off the balcony and landed on the amp and danced away with the bass player for the whole song. No i am not insance and no i was not on drugs  Grin  Just excited!

At the moment i love Kasabian also, never really went nuts over the album but saw them in nottingham and had such a good time dancing they totally won me! I love Queens of the Stone Age, The Killers (also didnt want to), Foo Fighters, and Ultimately

KINGS OF LEON - Not sure if many people are into them but they are Awesome!! seen them six times now and they blow me away, even went to New York and saw them twice there!  They are 3 brothers and a cousin from Tennessee and you people must check them out! Not your average band.

Wilco's 'a ghost is born', the soundtrack 'the life aquatic', Kings of Leon 'aha shake hearbreak' and Kraftwerk's 'autobahn' are all top of my playlist at the moment.
I noticed The Fall & Death In Vegas on tikay's i-pod, who'd a thought it!

Grunge and specifically Nirvana killed most of the music I grew up with. To be fair it was for the best. It was getting so you had to be a super huma guitarist even to play in a local band, the leather was getting too much and the Hair was getting out of control. Sometimes amazes me that Metallica are pretty much top of the pile now seeing as when I was a teenage metal head, although they were my favourite band they no bugger outside the thrash metal world was even slightly interested.

Trace, Im a big Queen fan too. have the complete vinyl collection and an ability to instantly recognise pretty mush any Brian May chop in one.

lovin the fact that kasabian is being mentioned alot.

Good music choices chilli. when did you see Kasabian?. kings of Leon are awesome, I completely agree. Only seen them once and that in itself makes you want to see them again. Qotsa, brilliant. Don't like there new album as much as past ones but it's still all cool. Foo Fighters like them? Too young to have been a fan in there time for bands such as pearl jam and nirvana although some of there tracks are my favourite songs, Alive by PJ as one example.

Aha shake heartbreak is also top of my playlist at mo Julian, wierd that.

Kings of Leon also great (life aquatic was a great film too Julian. Bill Murray is a comedy god.),

Who'd have thought it. There's some sort of musical consensus broken out on this ol' forum! *

It must be that poker player's have fine, fine tastes.

Jammer out.

* ok, i'm ignoring AdamM's dark past of cheesy metal. He was probably a def-leppard fan too.... [cough]. (just kiddin bro!)

I'm gonna start fallin out with people soon. with out that there is no this.  (I'm not talking about Def Leppard) fans of the current wave of guitar based bands have a lot to thank 80s and 90s rock and metal bands for

heh, just yanking your chain Adam! I was there with my gun's n roses album, miming to slash at one point too.... (and still rate master of puppets).

More interestingly what's the most embarressing album you've ever had? No shame guys. Oust your worst music.

For me its probably between...Jive Bunny and ... guh... jason and kylie [shiver]. No, I have no idea. I was far too young, and can take absolutely no responsibilty whatsoever....

Most awful album anyone bought me for christmas was Europe cant even remember the name of the album! Sure Adam has this in his collection ( American, big hair, tight pants!! hehe).

I bought myself Pan Pipe Moods "featuring the haunting sound of the pan pipes" (REALLY, no shit).  In one of my moments again!

YEY YEY YEY Go Kings of Leon fans.  My estimation on alot of poker players has gone up after hearing other people have as exquisite taste as myself on this matter.

Stoo, only saw Kasabian in June at the Ice Arena.
