The only good thing I have in the next few weeks is that I've got 5 out of 6 home games... so I should have some decent money coming in... I need to save up and get me a bowler..

I guess 69 runs and out in 14 overs.  If opo bats first then he will make 341 runs.

Sigh, 20 minutes until my match with the unbeaten league leader.  Once again I'm going for the TIE, all out attack combo which kept the score respectable last week.

Its weird, today's opponents don't have the ridiculously high rating players that some of the teams in my league have (his top rated player is 'only' 19k) but he seems to have a more consistency down his squad than those teams which do.  He has 12 players in his squad with 10k plus ratings which means he could field a team today which has every player rated higher than my best one.

I wouldn't have picked him out as being the hardest opposition in this league at the start of the season but results to date tell me he is.  Hopefully my team can bat a little better than they did against Cossieboy on Sunday!

Conditions for todays game are described as:

The pitch is looking a cracker! Hard and fast - should be a run-fest out there on this partially cloudy and humid day.

And after winning the toss it would be the perfect opportunity to put right a problem i've been having.......

Had hoped to put together a decent opening partnership for a change - our survey said: X

and yet again our survey says: X

1.2 W Dickinson to Tortoishell
Nicks that one to second slip, where Yorke holds onto a tight catch.

Sad

Off to a good start against the bottom of the league who have yet to win a game!!

I'm on a TIE as well today.  After going defensive last week and still only batting for 30overs and just scraping into 3figures I've decided to have a go today and attack.  Probably get skittled for 50 now Smiley

I have the same problem... except they won the toss and batted 1st.. and this being an unbeaten team

Wonder why they are 44-0 from 5.3 overs.....wonder IF I should not have set all my bowlers to go very attacking to see what happens........

81-0 from 10.1 overs.. keeping these under 350 is going to be fun!

I was 75-0 after 10overs.  Can only be downhill from here on in.

I was right!  Now 86-1 from 15overs.  Surprisingly the runs dried up and the wickets start falling when they bring their proper bowlers on.  The opposition treated me with contempt by opening with a bowler with a BTR of 1800!  Heres hoping my batsmen hang around long enough to see out his 2nd spell.

Bit of a mixed start. I created a gambler's pitch of Cracked but forgot to change to 'bowl first', so I'm 60-3 off 11 (although I was 29/3) including the loss of my best-rated batsman for 14. And his 'superb' bowler has just come back for his sixth over. If I can see his spell off without losing another wicket I have a chance as all the all-rounders are in the line-up and I bat down to nine today (no. 8 is comp/feeble!).
200 might be good enough today if Du Toit is in the mood for skittles.

That's taken awhile, I'm 71-3 off 14! GL all.

I logged on to discover they were batting first. Results thus far

End of Over 28: 194-0, runrate=6.93
Kobus 4-0-31-0
Smith* 87 (85 balls)
Bull 102 (83 balls)

One of his openers has a BT rating more than my whole team combined I think. HEHEHE. The openers add up to over 70,000

Still most of my team are resting. The others can rest the weekend.

Gotta try to get some fitness back.

Am I the only one in a competitive game today??? My lot are 144-4 off 30, which I reckon is above par on this pitch. How's everyone else doing?

I know this is probably a serious BOK but.......

I can't get an opening partnership to save my life and then......

30.4 1 Deon to Kirkland
    A run to Kirkland.
And that's a century for Kirkland! Well played indeed Sir!

then.....

31.3 1 Scriven to Abel
Runs it into the gap and calls him through for a sharp single.
And that's a century for Abel! Well played indeed Sir!

2nd wicket partnership currently stands at 206
