taken from another forum I thought this scenario was quite interesting..

situation:

You are Jim Jiggles
your current online roll is 2k

you sattelititeded your way into the sunday mill, and are deep.

payout is:
1st 200,000
2nd 102,000
3rd 84,000
4th 40,000

* There is talk at the table to make a deal 3 way, since short stack is only 2BB's

Now its 4 way, and the stacks are as follows:
Villain 1 - 13million
you 12.5 million
villain 2 - 8.5 million
Villain 3 - 1.2 million

Blinds are 300,000 / 600,000

you are BB, chip leader (villain 1) is SB
short stack is UTG
and Villain 2 is button.

it folds to you and chip leader goes all in. (I know, he's a retard, but thats how he has been playing)
you have KK.

who does what?

you HAVE to fold. it's horrible but you can't afford to risk it. wait for the shorty to get knocked out and take the deal.

Pre click the check/fold box.  Don't let that stupid brain thing start nagging away with thoughts of '' well if I double up ....''

A call could potentially cost you well over $50,000.  With a 'roll of $2K, that's a tad more than I'd be wanting to gamble, even if he told me he had A2 & I could shoot him if he's lying.

OOOOOOH this is like Bullseye  Grin

<<Im my best Jim Bowen accent>> "You've got $40,000, that's safe. You've go the time it takes the timer to count down from 30 seconds to decide what to do"

GAMBLE!!!!!!!!

The three way deal is not guarenteed and the short stack could still double through on the next two hands.

It's sqweaky bum time but you have to call.

Call Smiley. 40k is still alot, if you win, which you probably will, sod the deal and nab the 200k. I'd probably puke whatever happened. If you get sucked out on, get those serious insults ready for the chatbox.

If you called and won your chips would be worth about 160 -170k.  With a deal after the short stack goes out prob worth about 130k.  So if you are on average 3-1 fav it makes sense to call, but you have to take account of how you could use the "guaranteed" money i.e. if 100k gave you the bankroll to play at a higher level where you could win 50k more in the next 6 months, it would make sense to fold.
