In my opinion the fact so many fans are moaning about Capello playing Gerrard, well you can easily pull a hammie in the 2nd minute as the 82nd, ok fatigue plays a big part in injuries as the game wares on but Gerrard's fitness levels should be good enough to play 150 minutes if need be, besides he pulled it tackling/stretching in an awkward fashion, I think.

Its a pretty poor reflection on the Liverpool squad at the moment, that we're worried he's missing a home game on sat against a team at the bottom of the league and many sound like beacuse Gerrard is not playing we're doomed.  Capello can't exactly give 40 players 25 minutes each can he?

Too many fans moaning about this, deal with it, get on with it.  Some moan that youth does not get a chance at Liverpool, well Spearing may get a chance on staurday now, but it'll all be about Gerrard missing and getting the excuses in early for that.

IMO of course.

Didn't Liverpool ask Capello not to play Gerrard, or to limit his involvement because of a hamstring niggle?  Isn't that why the fans and the club are a bit upset about it?  Torres got crocked in an international for Spain a few years ago - and we haven't really seen the true Torres since that injury.

I didn't realise Gerrard had a 'niggle', even so I think we need a bit more of a 'lets get on with it' attitude rather than moaning too much.

These players aren't ever getting into top 4 sides or even 2nd tier sides likes Spurs.

I'd take our CBs over Spurs'.

You are correct though. Adding world beaters like Konchesky and Poulsen really hepled our cause.

Villa/Newcastle both hard games.

Any away game is hard for us tbh. Villa at Anfield has 0-0 written all over it.

Cech over Reina? I guess 2 years of bad form is a "blip" these days.

100% Disagree with cech/drogba being better than torres/reina.

Reina is the best keeper in the league surprised thats even up for debate. As for the Torres - Drogba debate, on form Torres is the best striker in the world.

If there was a top 4/prem dream team reina/gerrard/torres would be nailed on first 11.

Weirdly I'm not defensive over them right now. Most of them are pissing me off and the vast majority of comments about them are true. But for me Pepe is the EPL's best and the bloke is so committed it's untrue.

IF he stays another 10 years (easily possible) I think he'll go down as better than Clemence.

Reina>>>>>Cech

Thing about saying "If he's on top of his game I'd take him...." Well surely part of being a good player is being on top of your game most of the time? Torres has been too inconsistent for me so would take Drogba every day of the week

Defo agree, I just think when you look at Torres G2G ratio it's more impressive. The man just needs to get fit, his issue is minutes on the pitch. I'm not sure that will ever happen for longer than a few months here and there unless we buy other good strikers. Maybe it'll never happen in this country I dont know.

But it's hard to disagree. If some daft club offered us £15-20m (or whatever amount helps add up to Torres supposed worth) plus a rarely injured Benzema/Tevez etc I'd grudgingly accept.

If our back four is so bad, Pepe must be bloody fantastic to keep the clean sheets and defensive record Liverpool have had since he's been here.

As for the Torres v Drogba debate - they're both world class imo.  Drogba has the major advantage of playing in a side with decidedly better players than Torres has at Liverpool.  Also, Drogba weighs in with lots of assists, something that Torres does from time to time, but Drogba has a pick of other players who can score from his assists, whereas Torres often only has Gerrard or Kuyt.  I've said earlier that Torres hasn't been at his peak for well over 18 months now - and that's a crying shame.  Hopefully, he'll regain that form soon though.  It reminds me of Fowler when he had his bad injury, and never truly recovered from it.   Drogba hasn't had the best of seasons so far either though.  Hat-trick in the first game against WBA, and then only 3 more goals (all at home).   He's still world class though.

I'd have either in my side any day of the week.  In fact, imagine both in the same side... I wouldn't want to be a centre back against those two!
