This one cracks me up the most;

Yes because managing Halmsted and Malmo and other shitty teams is the same as managing at a club like Liverpool.

In my opinion the fact so many fans are moaning about Capello playing Gerrard, well you can easily pull a hammie in the 2nd minute as the 82nd, ok fatigue plays a big part in injuries as the game wares on but Gerrard's fitness levels should be good enough to play 150 minutes if need be, besides he pulled it tackling/stretching in an awkward fashion, I think.

Its a pretty poor reflection on the Liverpool squad at the moment, that we're worried he's missing a home game on sat against a team at the bottom of the league and many sound like beacuse Gerrard is not playing we're doomed.  Capello can't exactly give 40 players 25 minutes each can he?

Too many fans moaning about this, deal with it, get on with it.  Some moan that youth does not get a chance at Liverpool, well Spearing may get a chance on staurday now, but it'll all be about Gerrard missing and getting the excuses in early for that.

IMO of course.

Looking at Liverpool this season they have maybe 3 players who would get into a top 4 side. The defensive foundations of Skrtel, Kyriakos, Carragher, Konchesky would be laughed out of any top 4 side. These players aren't ever getting into top 4 sides or even 2nd tier sides likes Spurs. Other than Fernando name a forward who's getting into a top 4 side. Other than Gerrard name a midfielder getting into a top 4 side. So Tomkins point that Hodgson needs a win ratio of 60% to be top four is an accurate stat I suppose but has no connection to reality. The fact Liverpool can't and wont achieve that win % is because the players aren't good enough.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/l/liverpool/9206129.stm  over Xmas too.

Think Mereilas (SP?) and Shevely (SP?) will actually do really well if given a chance in the middle.

He will miss matches against West Ham, Tottenham, Steaua Bucharest, Aston Villa, Newcastle and FC Utrecht.

Only Spurs should be the tricky tie for Liverpool (with or without Stevie) in that list. the rest they should win.

lol Boldie if only it was that easy, we have already lost to Blackpool & Stoke If only Villa and Newcastle were gimmes but I dont even fancy them to beat West Ham at home and they're bottom.

true but you won't lose them simply because Stevie is out. You might lose because the tactics will be horrible though.

So if the Big 4 put out an XI , we would have 3 players in it, not a bad ratio imo

logic fail alert

firstly and most obviously you're not a top 4 team so none of your players would get in

secondly, following the logic you've applied then Man U would have 11 players in the XI as they have, by definition, 11 players who would get into a top 4 team. same is true of chelsea, arsenal and whoever the 4th team are so now we've got way too many people in our new team. that's probs why they don't make superteams

Didn't Liverpool ask Capello not to play Gerrard, or to limit his involvement because of a hamstring niggle?  Isn't that why the fans and the club are a bit upset about it?  Torres got crocked in an international for Spain a few years ago - and we haven't really seen the true Torres since that injury.
