Guus Hiddink?
Him or Jose, but I think both would want assurances that they would have money to spend. From reading Baron and others posts on here, I doubt those assurances will be given.

Interesting, given there current circumstances O'Neill is probably a good choice.

That was fking pathetic Liverpool, one of the worst displays I've seen for a long time , the team looks so stale, lacking fight and passion. Something drastic needs to be done
Pains me to say it,but the club seem to be regressing instead of progressing.
i still cant see who would do a better job

I think a lot of Liverpool fans would welcome this. I'm not 100% either way but the guy needs a crack at a top 4 EPL side at some stage. What else can he do before someone offers?
Agree Longy, I canno see the likes of Mourinho coming without the funds. I cant see the owners going from one outspoken manager to another. I know Mourinho is/was a Liverpool fan but he's always been backed up by good funding (even at Porto) and the word on the grapevine is he is Alex Furguson's successor and he wants to live in England.
Going back to MO'N, Liverpool would be lucky to have the guy considering what he has atm where he is. We are the most successful club in England by history only, the truth is we're about the 6th or 7th biggest club in the country by squad cost and wages, so the days of attracting managers with a reputation the size of Benitez' is over, at least until we build a stadium.

MO'N won't put up with a board telling him what to do or interefering as my own club found out about 15 years ago now.

This is why if Rafa makes the top 4 this season he wont be sacked. He knows his mandate and he's happy with it.

It would damage his career to walk away at suc a low, so i doubt he would.
If it does say he walk, then he was Secretly pushed

There are various reasons why i cant see O'Neill leaving Villa to go to Liverpool.
He's a very loyal bloke, he doesn't walk out on contracts without good reason. He turned down Leeds and Spurs to stay at Leicester.
He is building something good at Villa, with young British players, which are what he prefers to work with. There's not too many of that type of player in the current Liverpool squad. It would probably take at least three years to build the type of squad he wants.
I don't really know how the chairman works at Villa, but from the outside he seems to be one of the better chairman to work for. As Longy said, boardroom interference forced him out at Norwich (and Wycombe), and it nearly did at Leicester.
Also i'm not sure if O'Neill would move his family to the north of England.
