Do Liverpool fans think Mignolet is an upgrade on Reina?
Not really. More of a sideways step.
Was the reason ever given for giving Pepe the Spanish Archer?
My understanding was that Reina was on his way to Barca as Valdes had decided he was leaving at the end of the season. Then when the end of the season arrived Valdes decided to stay and during this time Rodgers knew we needed a replacement so bought Mignolet. W
With Valdes staying it meant we needed to get rid of one and Napoli offered a loan for Reina which meant one less wage to worry about and game time for both.
Mignolet is nowhere near as good as Reina, I genuinely would love to have him back, as the Barca situation is a bit all over the place. I know Barca have been a looking at a German keeper, his name escapes me, guess we're gonna have to wait and see what happens.
Toure and Cissokho are huge liabilities for us, the sooner Agger/Enrique get back in the team the better.

Just heard that Meulensteen's been sacked at Fulham. So they draw with the Champions, and are minutes away from drawing against an in-form Liverpool - but obviously time to get rid. Strange.
Think that's strange? Read about the bloke they've brought in!
Is it David Moyes?
Worthy of inclusion in the 'sad sad story thread' WP sir

He told Rodgers he wanted to stay unless Barca came in for him. Rodgers didn't like that and booted him.

I thought Reina showed quite a few signs of falling away last year. Whether this was temporary of a permanent drop in form, tricky to say. Only 31 years old, after all
Whether Mignolet is the answer, too early to say. Still young and obviously not got the rounded game of a fully fledged top notch keeper

Fair comment about Reina (more the year before for me) but still better in his sleep than Mignolet.
I don't think spells under Dalglish and especially Hodgson helped Reina at all. His statement after he left was awful, so I don't have any love for the guy, but genuinely put him above every other major club's keeper bar Spurs.

Very harsh that IMO, for 2 to 3 years Reina was not producing the goods and looked half arsed doing it, when he was good he was real good, but don't forget when he first joined how it took him time to settle, remember the Everton game? Mignolet has made some errors yes but he has also pulled off some brilliant saves and IMO his distribution has improved as the season went on, he could command the area a bit better but Reina wasn't exactly coming out and claiming crossed balls himself.

In fairness to the lad he's stepped up in the last couple of games, solid enough defensively, very little gets by him, obv he's a bit donkish with the ball at his feet but he's not that bad at the minute IMO.

The Liverpool XI: Jones, Flanagan, Skrtel, Agger, Cissokho, Gerrard, Allen, Coutinho, Suarez, Sterling, Sturridge.
Liverpool's substitutes: Mignolet, Toure, Moses, Henderson, Kelly, Aspas, Teixeira.
Allen for Hendo. Really ?

In fact Henderson's so good that Liverpool have pulled a goal back before he's even got on the pitch
