Hicks has faced heavy abuse from the Liverpool faithful since an American consortium, led by his father, bought the club promising enormous investment, but instead ran it into the ground to such a degree that they were forced to sell stuff on ebay to claw back some cash. Liverpool fans’ associations rose up in arms after it was revealed that Hicks Jr had invited Horner to ‘blow me, fuckface’ in an email: an invitation which Horner, according to sources, ‘declined to take up’. But a copy of the full email, leaked to BACK OF THE NET, reveals even more childish insults from the American.

There are loads of Scousers kicking up a stink about it online today.

Good point: Horner is claiming that Hicks has left liverpool with loads of debt, therefore getting £100Million+ for selling the stadium name can't be a bad thing, right?

Bad Point: losing a little bit of history, in danger if becoming to commercialised, or 'Americanised'! i know i wouldn't like Celtic park to become the 'Microsoft Stadium' or such.

The new stadium won't be Anfield anyway.  A romantic, ideal situation would be to keep the name and not have to whore it out to get the revenue to buy players.  Unfortunately, if we want to compete it looks inevitable.

It's not that bad really, "Emirates Stadium" is still Ashburton Grove aka "The Grove" to diehard gooners.

Definitely good.

The fans who are buried in the past need to wake up. We bitch and moan about keeping the club local, scouse and personal and not wanting to end up like Man U who have totally commercialised themselves accross the globe (with fans mostly from Essex ) then we complain that a few bad transfers in the 90's is what changed our club from the very best to one of a top 4 and that we have no money for transfers.

We need to get with the programme and move on.

Pacheco on the bench.  Would be nice to go a few up and give him a run out.  A special talent, who might be a bit lightweight but is only going to know if he can cut it at the top level if he gets some games.
