Warnock can't get a game for Villa but would be the solution for Liverpool? erm...OK.

Liverpool have big problems at left back, he is better than what they currently have.

BTW, only just noticed the price for lukaku, 22mill for a 17YO?..isn't that a bit OTT?

Warnock is underrated, imo.  And is a good solution until the end of the season.

Lukaku 22 mill is prob not the full fee.  Something like 7-9mill up front, and the rest added fees due to appearances, bonus's, international caps.

Pacey, good eye for goal, excellent skill. Was linked with every club under the sun at one stage (Chelsea, Spurs, Man U and Real). In Belgium they hailed him as the "new Drogba".

BBC said he wasn't moving on Dec 21st http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/9301949.stm

From the little I've seen of him he's a proper talent. Might pick Liverpool because he will get games there whereas at Real, Chelsea or ManU he'd end up wasting time on the bench. He has to play though, it's vital for his progression so no point buying him as a back up as he won't take kindly to that

If he's half the player Drogba is then he'll be an excellent signing.  Maybe the ideal sort of player to play alongside Torres as well?

We don't need back up, we need another forward on the pitch.  Maybe not for every game, but I'd say most.

As for Warnock, he was exposed positionally when he was at Liverpool, but I always liked him.  An honest player.  Defensively he's improved a lot since he left Anfield and would add more to our defence if he came back.

He had a terrible run of luck early in his career, breaking both legs.  If he's not getting a game at the moment and he can help us out (at least in the short-term), then why not?

I thought they played their best football under Roy with Gerrard out of the team.

We did play some of our best games under Roy without Gerrard (Chelsea), but also relied on him in others to rescue us (the 3-1 win in the Europa League for one.

He'll be missed today.

Looking very very narrow again, why is it we keep playing 3 central mids?

Would it be totally ridiculous to describe today's game as a relegation battle?

Why is it even remotely ridiculous?  This far into the season and there both only 3 pts away.  Doesn't seem like a midtable clash to me.

Everton without Cahill and Pienaar look completely toothless.

Don't kid yourselves that if you get 3 points here it's the start of a revival, you would be real relegation candidates if can't beat this Everton XI.
