One good legacy from Roy (and Purslow) is Mereiles, who was a great buy for £11M.

He has to be played in the middle, probably with Gerrard and Lucas.

Under Roy played the majority of games at RW. Ridiculous. On fire in the middle.

Kuyt interview saying "we're not playing so many long balls" lol. Glad he pointed it out. For such a great man manager it's pretty obvious Roy lost the dressing room in 6 months. Something that (arguably) happened to Benitez after 6 years.

Segura & Borrell were only signed last summer. So the youth team success is also down to Benitez mostly. Funny since most reds were up in arms about Heighway going. But when Kenny says he did good we all listen lol.

And if signing the youth team coaches was such an obvious move why didn't some other genius manager conjure it up? We are after all a declining club? Credit to the manager for that one seems pretty obvious even to the haters.

So apparently Mido (friends with Luis Suarez) says in an interview that 'Suarez won't play again for Ajax and he's 90% sure he's headed to Liverpool'.

remember that Mido is nothing but a trouble maker though. Having said that, I would be very surprised if Suarez doesn't go to Liverpool

@JimBoardman FA fined Babel £10k for a harmless joke about Howard Webb. Will they comment on the 'jokes' from Keys and Gray about one of their officials?

Andy Gray and Richard Keys caught making sexist remarks

The Mail claim they made the comments below and say they have a recording (though the one posted doesn't work).

Sky Sports presenters Andy Gray and Richard Keys were at the centre of a sexism row last night after they questioned whether a female linesman knew the offside rule during a Premier League football match.

The commentators, who apparently believed their microphones were switched off, were recorded making disparaging remarks about Sian Massey, 25, before Liverpool’s Premiership clash with Wolves yesterday.

They also criticised Apprentice star and West Ham vice-chairman Karren Brady who had yesterday written about sexism in a newspaper column.

Commenting on Ms Massey, Mr Keys said: ‘Somebody better get down there and explain offside to her.’

Mr Gray, a former Scottish international footballer, replied: ‘Can you believe that? A female linesman. Women don’t know the offside rule.’

Mr Keys replied: ‘Course they don’t. I can guarantee you there will be a big one today. Kenny (Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish) will go potty. This isn’t the first time, is it? Didn’t we have one before?’

Later in the exchange, Mr Keys said: ‘The game’s gone mad. Did you hear charming Karren Brady this morning complaining about sexism? Do me a favour, love.’

Ms Brady had said she had ‘experienced sexism at its rankest, lies about my personal life and a level of calculated mischief that is simply appalling’.

Asked about the pundits’ remarks, she said: ‘I think this just sums up everything I said in my column.’

During the game, which Liverpool won 3-0, Ms Massey angered Wolves by refusing to rule Raul Meireles offside before he set up Liverpool’s first goal. The replay showed that she made the correct decision.

When The Mail on Sunday put the transcript to Mr Keys, he said: ‘I have no recollection of that. I have no idea what you are talking about.

'My recollection is that I wished the young lady all the best.’

When told a recording existed of the conversation, he said: ‘If you have a tape then you don’t need me to talk to you.’

Last night The Mail on Sunday sent a transcript and a copy of the recording to a Sky Sports spokeswoman.

She was not able to confirm or deny the veracity of the clip, which was provided to this newspaper by an anonymous source.

Mr Gray could not be reached last night.

It wont be the first time blatant sexism is brushed under the carpet.

I didn't think Rodney Marsh's toon army joke was half as bad as yesterday's comments.

They're obviously a lot bigger to Sky than Rodney Marsh worse and I'd be very surprised if anything comes of it.

So Roy inherits a crap squad, and that's why they lost so many games including against Wolves a few weeks back.

The team were terrible, performance abject and disinterested. Not Roy's fault though.

Fast-forward to today, and the same players are on the pitch. Kenny has inherited a crap squad apparently. Funny though, they looked very interested today and the performance was good to see.

But please remember, it wasn't Roy's fault the team were so bad before. Obviously something else must have changed...

One swallow does not a summer make.

I agree, it might just be an anomaly. We'll know more after a few more games.

BUT, with the emphasis on the players to just go out and play and to do their jobs well I expect to see the team continue to improve.

Cases in point - Pepe's distribution. Was sublime yesterday. Also, the 'pass and move' ethic that Kenny wants them to play was also evident, highlighted by the last goal.

Of course, Wolves were poor, and you'd expect Liverpool to beat them. But before yesterday how many expected Liverpool to win?

Before yesterday how many expected Liverpool to win? In answer to that question I would ask why expectations were so low? If Hodgson was the root cause of Liverpool's woes why wouldn't expectations be much higher before yesterday's game now he's gone? Dalglish has come in with all the right tactics and everyone is super motivated cos the king is back and the squad is very good yet you don't expect mighty Liverpool FC to go and get a result at relegation favourites Wolverhampton Wanderers. Too much results orientated analysis here. The back four are still as rubbish as last week. Only yesterday they faced zero pressure from an ultra negative and very poor Wolves side. My mates at the game said Liverpool were scrappy and poor before the goal opened the game up and then Wolves allowed Liverpool to play as they chased the game. If Hodgson didn't inherit a poor squad I don't know why Liverpool are currently chasing numerous high profile players.
