Charlie Adam would be perfect for you. Free Gerrard up, get you money out, they couldn't turn down 7/8m.
Depends what Villa want to spend. If they're daft enough to spend £18m-£24m on Bent....

Great interview with Rafa on 5live. On the bbc website if you missed it.

I see there's nothing in the media about Kenny's comment about what a good job Rafa did with the academy.
Doesn't suit the Rafa-bashing sentiment I guess.
Obv the media are more interested in the state he left the 1st team squad in, and why wouldn't they be? But anyway let's credit him now. VWP Rafa for employing Pep Segura. You are an abs visionary to have concluded the massively successful director of Barcelona's Youth Academy is good at developing youth.

"chalk and cheese" compared to the team Roy Hodgson managed - Andy Gray gets something right!

The performance was better than the goal - and that is saying something!

So Roy inherits a crap squad, and that's why they lost so many games including against Wolves a few weeks back.
The team were terrible, performance abject and disinterested. Not Roy's fault though.
Fast-forward to today, and the same players are on the pitch. Kenny has inherited a crap squad apparently. Funny though, they looked very interested today and the performance was good to see.
But please remember, it wasn't Roy's fault the team were so bad before. Obviously something else must have changed...

He looked a decent talent in the academy. Haven't seen the goal yet, but will have a gander.
Looking forward to Shelvey growing into the player he promises to be. At the moment he seems to be trying too hard with the very limited chances he's getting. Shame we went out of the league cup so early, as he might have had a run of games and settled in a bit more.

lol, I'm not having a 40 yard run unchallened, than a richochet, then a deflected shot as superb.

I agree, it might just be an anomaly. We'll know more after a few more games.
BUT, with the emphasis on the players to just go out and play and to do their jobs well I expect to see the team continue to improve.
Cases in point - Pepe's distribution. Was sublime yesterday. Also, the 'pass and move' ethic that Kenny wants them to play was also evident, highlighted by the last goal.
Of course, Wolves were poor, and you'd expect Liverpool to beat them. But before yesterday how many expected Liverpool to win?
