Saurez is class imo. Im a bit gutted we have not gone for him. I know our priorities probably lie elsewhere like a decent keeper and centre half but if we want to push on surely buying a player of this quality would've helped us. He is a natural goalscorer and we have been crying out for one of those for ages.
Good signing for Liverpool although with torres going it seems like 1 step forward 2 steps backwards

Suarez is a bit tasty..delighted he's left Ajax as it's them out of the title race.

Hodgson was roundly criticised for signing Poulsen but Kenny is putting him in the starting line-up. Any criticism of Kenny?
Nope. He's paying well. Good inspiration obv.

£50M is the amount that would trigger a clause in his contract. Sad news is that apparently Torres has asked Liverpool to negotiate with Chelsea. Other journos saying zero evidence of Torres wanting to go :-)

If we force him to stay when he doesn't want to be here we may as well play Ngog up front. If his minds made up we may as well get as much as we can now

It's not about hopeful. It's about our season. If he goes were weaker than when the window opened.
Also see Tevez/Rooney for times when the club holding firm payed off. This isn't Mascherano whose wife hated England, he loves the area and club we just can't match his ambition.
I would say he'll be at Liverpool on Tuesday if FSG have any sense.

Some decent signings have been made so you'd hope the club can convince him that they are going to invest heavily (like the suarez deal) and that might convince him to stay...but they really have to win somethign as he's too good to play for a club that's not in the running for anything.
TBF to Torres, he's been hanging around for years waiting on Liverpool competing for stuff so you can't blame him for wanting to leave.

I don't know why Liverpool would want to convince Torres to stay if he wants to go. I've said before that the problem at Liverpool is too many players lacking the commitment for the club. You can't deny Torres is world class but I'd prefer a committed Suarez than a couldn't care less Torres any day of the week. There is no doubt his injuries, his negative demeanour and his lack of goals have contributed to the club's current slump so £50m sounds like an attractive prospect. I think Liverpool have paid a touch over the odds for Suarez because they know Torres wont be around come Tuesday.

I don't blame Torres at all. Previous ownership broke promise after promise. New owners whilst solid and sensible are showing Torres they want to build steadily.

What about Rooney or Tevez?
