Let me be clear on one thing. I understand why Suarez wouldn't want to shake Evra's hand and vice versa.
As I said earlier though both of them should have been man enough to do so so it could be put to bed once and for all.
In hindsight this is obviously true.
Do you think Fergie will be pissed at Evra? Throughout this Utd have had the moral higher ground from the outside, Evra dancing about at the end probably has moved Utd away from that stance slightly. He didn't look terribly happy about it when he was told.

I like Redknapp, not sure he's a great analyst but just think he comes across well, is biased though as said.
I can't get away with Dixon, Shearer is shit, yes you read that right, Hansen is the boss.
The funniest thing ever is Shearer at major international tournaments. Then MO'N completely contradicting everything he says, usually starting with "I completely disagree....."

Ferguson also accepts Evra lap of honour was a step too far. "He shouldn't have done that."
in the press conference.

Its ok saying that george, but if you were a victim (not saying he did not say what he said, but he was adamant that he did not say it) then would you want to shake that persons hand? Im not sure I would..
A Player accuses you of cheating at DTD, all this and all that goes on, you did not cheat but something you did implies that you did, you are barred from DTD for 8 months.. You going to say ok bud no worries its all in the game, lets shake hands?? im not convinced...

The first player they showed after Suarez scored was Evra
this pissed me off royally, why?? it was Ferdinands error that gave suarez the goal, yet sky show evra, no other reason than to have something to discuss.. I bet sky cut that out of every replay of the goal, because someone will realise how shit it looks when its replayed over and over on SSN ..

opinions on the challenge that nearly crippled rio in the first minute? looked to me that rio saved evra a very early bath and suarez a broken leg by getting in the way of that one

It doesn't matter what stance Suarez wants to take cos he's not paid to take stances. He is paid to represent Liverpool football club and should do what's in their interests. But he thinks he's bigger than the club, hence he does stuff in his own interests. SAF wont be pissed at Evra one bit. Evra tells SAF before the game he is prepared to shake hands and be the bigger man even though he is the victim, then ManU get vital win against Liverpool to go top of the league he whips up a raucous reception from the cheering home crowd. Prob high-fiving each other in the dressing room right now.

Ridiculous analogy. He has a higher responsibility. He has caused all this furore. We would not be talking about this subject has he shook his hand for 1 second.
Re Evra- I agree that he should have continued to take the higher ground. Applauded the win and walked off with some dignity.

Yes, both had the chance to be the bigger man. Both declined that opportunity.
The only one who approved of their actions is Sky.
Like I said, the sideshow Sky wanted to focus on took away from a solid performance by man u, and a very poor one from Liverpool.
Anyway, switch to the egg-chasing now. England and Italy first in the kick-chase version of the game, and then Wigan v Leeds in the superior version of rugby later.

If I was a sponsored player and by me not shaking the hand of someone I didn't like/accused me of being a cheat would perhaps cause trouble and violence and ill feeling on and off the felt then I would shake someone's hand for the sake of appearance.

Maybe an FA report will do a good 115 page report on the psychology of why Suarez might possibly want to not shake Evra's hand but Evra (the apparently racially abused one) was more than happy to. wp the FA and their investigations.
Again, I'm not disagreeing with the above posts, but do you guys really think Keane or Cantona would have not done much the same to their accuser if they felt that person had blatantly lied and had them branded a racist worldwide? Keane ended someone's career for shouting at him to get up and Cantona attacked a fan at a match. All I'm saying is Suarez isn't the first to do something with bad judgement. Saying he shouldn't play for the club again etc is a bit ridic.
I don't think Suarez has been brilliant today (nor has Evra) and LFC and our owners won't be very happy about it all tonight, but I think the ramifications of not shaking someone's hand aren't what Sky and some on here are saying it is.
Pretty sure that by Friday 'Arry will be the man in the headlines again.
