Dempsey not in Fulham pre season camp pictures.

Spearing is good and solid but shouldn't be anywhere near the first team of a Liverpool midfield.
Reality of today's Liverpool team that he gets a run out. Decent squad member/ league cup team imo

Thought the youngsters had a real good game last night. With the senior players rejoining the squad tomorrow its amazing just how many players BR has to look at.
Suso, Sterling, Ibe all looked really good, had pace and plenty of skill.
Pachaco, Morgan and Eccelston had good games.
Cole provided 1 good cross but apart from that was ordinary. Aquilani had a few decent touches. I cant see how Spearing and Adam can get any minutes in the first XI this season with the midfielders we have.
Roma will be a tougher test on Wed but id expect a lot stronger line up for that game with the Euro qualifer coming up.

Assuming they can play the style Rodgers wants, and finance isn't an issue....
top 4? (got to knock a Manchester club, Chelsea, or North London club out of the top 4. tough!)

Top 6 and another good cup season.
For me a good season is more points on the board with more goals scored. For this season I'm not too worried about position I'm competing against last season. We wont make top 4 but we cant be 15-20 points away either.

Liverpool should be challenging for a top 4 spot (as we should have been doing last season). When you say "finance isn't an issue" - it obviously comes into play. But whatever there is to spend, the team will definitely be playing in the style Rodgers wants them to play. Which should please the fans, as long as they're patient. |
