http://www.transferleague.co.uk/premiership-transfers/liverpool-transfers.html

Rafa ran the club at a £14m profit in his last 2 seasons. What could he of done with the funds KK, Roy and BR have had?

Rafa was so under-valued by many fans. Without H&G as owners he'd have done so much more with his time at Liverpool.

Not saying we should be buying to sell - but if we do, it'd be nice to sell them at a profit.  Our business in the transfer market has been pretty terrible over the past decade.

It's been awful certainly. Wrong end of stick I think, I'm finding it hard to get my point. As a top club any player that we sell should never be worth more than we paid, as that would indicate to me they are leaving before or during their prime- title / CL type players if you will.

I know what you're saying, Liverpool should be a final destination rather than a stepping-stone - and I agree.  But even in Liverpool's pomp, players were sold (Keegan, Rush, etc.), and for a nice profit.

With all the terrible players you have signed for vast sums of money, this has to be considered 1 of the better ones!

Not sure I see it as a sigh at all.  He might not have been the first player I'd have picked to sign for Liverpool, but we need to strengthen our non-existent forward-line desparately - and he's a young, decent forward - and he hasn't cost the earth either.

Would have liked to have signed Ba as well, even with his injury problems.  Would have made a decent stop-gap if nothing else.

That was mentioned weeks ago when he was first being sounded out as a target.  Not sure how that'd be enforceable though, as players play in different positions and in different formations. Don't think Liverpool have signed him as a winger though - it's not where the main issues are.

He's worth closer to £12M than Carroll is to £35M.

I also think that Sturridge might fit in very well with Suarez's style of play.  Got to be optimistic - at least we've signed someone before the last day of the transfer window for a ridiculously inflated price.

In other news, looks like both West Ham and QPR are after Joe Cole.
