The Liverpool team in full is: Reina, Johnson, Enrique, Agger, Carragher, Lucas, Gerrard, Coutinho, Downing, Sturridge, Suarez. Subs: Gulacsi, Skrtel, Henderson, Shelvey, Sterling, Allen, Borini.
cant work out how Downing now starts every game, ok he has improved but is hardly the difference maker. Id of rather seen Henderson stay in a midfield 3 and Coutinho as part of the front 3

Downing has been performing well, and there's no one to play in that position at the moment to replace him.
Surprised Rodgers hasn't gone for Allen to play against Swansea. Glad he hasn't, but surprised.

What does performing well mean though? How many goals has he scored in the last 10 games? How many goals have been scored from chances he created?
I accept he is playing better than he was but still cant see any match winning performances. As i said Coutinho could do the job there and the midfield 3 would be much stronger. Concerned BR will baby him into the team like he did Sahin instead of actually playing him where he should be.

He's been laying on lots of goal-scoring opportunities and helping create chances. Not always the provider's fault if the recipient doesn't finish the chance.
Coutinho is playing today. Downing is in at the expense of Sterling I'd guess. Henderson also missing out.
As I type, Downing takes a shot that nearly hits the corner flag...

Half an hour gone, and it's been all Liverpool. 65% of the possession, getting on towards 20 shots (with about only half-a-dozen of them onside) compared to Swansea's single attempt on goal so far.
Liverpool also had a cast-iron penalty that Howard Webb didn't give.
It's all too familiar so far...
